Saliva actually helps denture wearers as if you mouth is dry then you may experience more rubbing etc as your tongue and cheeks will not slide over the dentures as your saliva acts as a lubricant.
If you have excessive saliva you may try something like seabond which is a lining that you can buy at mot chemists. is easy to use and you just cut it to the shape of your denture and apply.
Often medication can effect how much saliva you produce. Many high blood pressure meds can reduce your saliva amount and cause dryness. Believe me...more saliva is often better than having a dry mouth which can cause your denture to rub.
Have you tried leaving your denture out at night? wash it well with a nail brush and soap then rinse and leave to dry over night. This can help to kill of any bacteria left on dentures and also gives your mouth a rest.
If using Sterident DO NOT use it hot as this will bleach the acrylic of your denture and leave you with white looking gum (flange) on your denture!

I have read excess saliva does stop just a matter of getting use to using them the right way. After awhile you will not know you are wearing them with proper fit. Since it is a foreign object in your mouth, take patience. Talk, sing, read aloud. You can do this in a car, in the shower or when you are alone. Same as contact lens against your eyeball.

It will stop in time as the wearer gets used to them. Its very common with new dentures, even with people who have worn them previously;

This will stop before you realize it. My dentist explained to me that anytime you put anything foreign (ex: penny, marble, anything) in your mouth, your mouth will creat saliva 'til it gets use to it, and your dentures are foreign 'til you get use to them. Then it'll stop. Maybe a month or two.

yes tighten your dentures use a pad you cut to the shape of your teeth

this happens with braces if you just leave it is SHOULD stop.
