My teacher at beauty school told me if you rinse your mouth with peroxide for about 5 minutes a day it will whiten your teeth. She said peroxide is the key ingridient in most teeth whitening kits, but is it safe to use pure peroxide even if you will be spitting it out? It is avery strong chemical.

try a small dilution mix. 2 cap fuls of peroxide and 1/2 cup water. full strengh is quite disgusting and being a first timer you could gag and swallow. try it 2 times a day to get used to it. be sure to rinse throughly after ward.
it does work and it helps keep your mouth clean.

.I used to work with the disabled some of them had a Dr. prescribed treatment once a day. Staff members needed to mix basking soda and peroxide into a paste for them. We added a little toothpaste to make it taste better. I have used it It really cleans your teeth and gums. The first time you use it you gums may bleed a little but then the get use to it. It is recommended also for the gums to prevent gum disease. I do not think pure peroxide will be harmful but it may be too strong and you may need to take a huge sip to have it coat your entire mouth. The paste helps to spread it onto all tooth surfaces and gums. This way it only takes enough peroxide to dampen the baking soda (also a whitener)

well first of all, the peroxide you buy in stores isn't pure. it's diluted, and i doubt anyone would sell you pure peroxide to rinse with. the store-bought peroxide is safe to use in your mouth, though. there are even directions on the bottle to tell you how to use it for that purpose. just don't swallow it like everyone else said.

Its safe-ish. Mix 50-50 with water. Peroxide tastes nasty, though! The stuff you have is only ~3% in an aqueous solution. Baquicil shock, for pools is the same thing, only 26%, which is enough to bleach/ melt cloth, skin...

Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and
are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries but certain precautions have to be taken.I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/ep7yg

yeah its safe, i have this teeth whitnening foam, and now that you mention it, it did taste like peroxide, because i used pure HPS once, and it foamed and tasted weird so yeah it should be safe, but you can either use that or an actual teeth whitneing agent...

i got listerine whitening prebrush rinse.... i dont use it because the taste is completely HORRIBLE!

yes stimulates nerves when you put it on a flesh wound. Sounds like a roundabout way of saying "flavor!" Some people use H2O2 to brush their teeth. It's a pretty good disinfectant.
Better mixed with water half and half. and do not swallow, spit it out.

Yes, and she is right, it IS a key ingredient in many oral products. Just beware...it will foam up on ya! And I would dilute it a bit if I were you. I can think of many things we place in our mouths on a regular basis that are MUCH more dangerous & certainly not sanitary ;-)
Just SPIT IT OUT!!!!
