The 1-800-DENTIST lady says to call 1-800-DENTIST. Those dentists all pay to be on that service. I agree...word of mouth is the best way.

word of mouth sometimes, but the problem with this is that sometimes these referrals are given based on general attitude of the office and the doctors chairside manner, these things are a plus in choosing a dentist but not necessarily indicators that a dentist is a good one, i have known some awesome dentists that unfortunately were not delivering a good quality job in the mouth. my advice on finding a good dentist is for you to look in your local yellow pages under laboratories- dental and call a few labs in your area and ask for a referral, labs are excellent judges of how good a dentist is as far as the work that he/she does because we see it every day. and we don't mind steering a patient in the right direction. also remember you usually get what you pay for, if you base your decision on prices,you may end up costing yourself more money in the end, never choose a dentist based on price if you are doing cosmetic or restorative work, instead ask to see some pics of their products, if they look pretty good, meaning if they actually look like teeth then chances are the dentist does a good job as well as the laboratory. good luck to you!
