I can not remember her losing her top tooth yet so i am unsure if this is a baby tooth or a permanent tooth........ i know that when kids loose the top teeth they come back bigger but this one is still small, she has already lost a few on the bottom.

How can i tell if this is a baby tooth or not....... there was blood and we couldnt tell if it was coming from the tooth or a small gash.... it is able to be pushed back but it is still intact in the back.......as it is after hours i am unable to get an appointment.......

I am scared and dont know if we should leave it alone ( if its a permanent tooth) or try to work it out if its a baby tooth........ help please

so i have these black spots between the ridges of my molars, some even form a black line, but some are tiny little dots.

i tried everything i could think of to see if they're caries. driking HOT and freezing cold liquids, breathing in cold air, poking at them with lots of pressure using a dentist hook etc. none seem to give a positive ID. i feel NO toothache what-so-ever.

are they really caries? what else can they be?

It's not a sharp pain, it's more like an ache. It's been a couple of days and he says it's only getting worse! What are the possibilities?? We think maybe his wisdom teeth...?

I've had braces for four years, and I just got them off this week. Now I have a retainer, which I was told to wear 24/7. Do I really have to wear it ALL day long? I don't really want to wear it to school, so I've been putting it in after school in the late afternoon and then taking it off the next morning. Is this bad?

No pain for 24 hrs after extraction, but the day after, the bottom of the cavity looks white/yellowish and I started to have a bit of pain and some inflamation. I think some food may be stuck there or coud it be bone/dry socket? It doesn't come out with gentle rinsing. Do I need to see dentist again?

I noticed a small very hard white bump on the inside of my gums by my back molar. It felt like bone and did not move at all when I poked at it. It has since gone leaving a ulcer or hole that apears to go all the way back to the tooth. It dosen't hurt and didn't really hurt when it felt like a bone sticking out of my gums either. I've had concerns of STD's in the past (usually unwarranted) and test always neg. The one that concerns me is syphilis. Does this sound like something to be concerned with? It has gone from bone like to a hole in around two to three weeks. And it really does go all the way to the tooth, I can feel it with a pick using no pressure at all.

I know it is so silly, but it is very real to me.

I have tried almost everything, from changing dentists (why do they seem so darn INDIFFERENT to fear?), to breathing techniques, to just downright sobbing on the chair...and I have found nothing that works.

I don't want to go to my doctor and have him give me a medication for it, either.

Please, ANYONE in this situation, how do I just "get over it"? I am a very down to Earth person otherwise, but my dental health is failing fast due to my fears!

I know recession usually occurs with the natural aging process but can you completely prevent it from happening with good oral hygiene (brushing & flossing after every meal)?

Also, is it really that safe to floss a bit under the gums? Would that somehow cause recession? If done gently, would it?

Was it painful? What does it feel like? What did you have to change about your eating/brushing habits? Did you get your braces on while the expander was on or after it was off? Thanks in advace for all your help-I just want to know what I'm getting myself into! =)

I would like to know some things that would be good to eat since my mouth will be so sensitive and hoping it's more than soup. Also since I will have no tooth at all in the back, how long will this take to heal and when I can I begin to eat normal food again? I am so worried i will pretty much never be able to eat on that side since i will have a huge empty gap where my tooth once was.
