I assume you mean labret. Gum erosion and tooth damage are a problem with this piercing. You should have properly fitted jewelry (snug to minimize the rubbing). You can also get jewelry with a softer back to minimize the damage. Unfortunatley once it starts, there isn't anything you can do about it, the damage is not reversable. Go to a piercing studio, get jewelry like I've mentioned see if it helps (don't wait too long though). If it doesn't I would recomend you retire the piercing.

I usually recomend vertical labrets to people who want labret/lip piercings but are worried about tooth and gum damage. I have one, it doesn't go anywhere near your teeth and they are very attractive

I think they need to put a warning label on this thing. I have never seen a labret piercing that did NOT cause gum recession in the lower teeth.

I agree with the "piercing artist". Piercings in chin and tongue can cause problems, but it should resolve with the right stud. Ask a qualified "piercer"

Take it out asap. I had the comparable ingredient take place, and so did 2 of my acquaintances. Your gums won't pass lower back to their commonplace point. what's sexier a tongue barbell or your teeth?

It can cause all that *plus* if it comes apart, you can accidently swallow or *inhale* the inside stud (plus possible broken teeth from biting it). That could lead to surgery if you get it in your lungs. Happens a lot more than people realize.

And you were warned, weren't you? Piercings will lead to all kinds of problems later in life.
