Been on the pill for 3 years, I go once a yr for a repeat prescription to the nurse, the last time she said my BMI was on the edge of obese & that if I put on anymore weight she wouldn't recommend me being on the pill. I'm due to go back in January, but I'm so scared cos I think I'm pretty much the same weight as when I went last. I always lose weight over summer eating salads etc then put it back on in the winter and over Xmas!!! I really need the pill cos before I had crippling period pains and massive bleeding every month and the pill has made my life so much better!
I don't have any other risk factors, I don't drink, smoke etc, have no family history of blood clots, so do you think when I go next if I've not lost weight, or god forbid put more on, that they wouldn't give me another prescription?
I know you can get different types of pill with different levels of hormones, so could they switch me to a different one which is safer for people with a high BMI til I lose some weight?
