Ok, so I've been taking the depo birth control shot for almost 5 years now, which would mean I started taking it in 2002, I went today for my normal shot that occurs every 3 months and the nurse asked me "How long have you been taking depo", and I said almost 5 years, then she said "Have you been taking calcium", and I said no, so then she went and got a head nurse and they told me that I am should have been taking calcium pills because depo causes bone loss, and that in 2004 there was a black box warning saying that no one should take depo for more than 2 years. I had been on depo for 2 years when this notice came out. However today 2007 is the first time I had ever heard that it causes bone loss, that your supposed to take calcium, and that your not supposed to take it for more than 2 years. I always have weird feelings in my legs and stuff and I don't know if the depo shot is why. Shouldn't the clinic have informed me of these risks and told me that I couldn't take it any longer?

Im going to an endocrinologist for treatment of my thyroid disease (hashimoto's). Well she has diagnosed me as being insulin resistant. I get very sick if I try taking the medicine she prescribed and am wondering if I am truly insulin resistant. She started me on metformin which I could not take at all then switched me to glumetza which also makes me sick. She did this based on 2 glucose fasting tests that I had done by another dr almost a year and half ago, my levels were 102 and 105. Yes I am a bit overweight due to my thyroid not being under proper control (at another dr's expense). I exercise every day watch what I eat and am very active. When I do get blood work done from my endo. it is always just focused at my thyroid levels. Is this normal...can the results from a year and half ago still be correct, should she be doing more tests? Only thing she told me was to take the glumetza and stay on a no carb diet.

I went to a free skin cancer screening and was told I should come back to have 2 dysplastic nevi (abnormal moles) looked at. Has anyone has this done before and had everything turn out ok? My appt is in 2 weeks and I'm completely freaking out about this!
The last time I was at the doc was 6 months ago to have my annual gyno exam (everything ok). One of the moles is on my breast and my OB never mentioned anything about it (she had to do a breast exam on me... also, I had a baby last year so saw lots of docs- don't you think one would mention something if something looked suspicious?).
I do have a photo of me from 2 years ago in a bathing suit (one mole is on my breast) and I can see the mole and it looks pretty much the same, but it definitely is dysplastic nevi.
Can someone help calm me down? Thanks!!!!

This was my original question that I would like you to read before answering this one.
My back hurt from Thursday until Sunday, stopped Monday & Tuesday for the most part, then when I woke up Wednesday it was back again. I have been getting more rest, exercising easily, and sleeping on my back or stomach. Does this mean it could be a popped nerve since it is recurring?

I had a kidney stone the size of a baseball (just 1 huge stone!) and it landed me in the hospit for 3 days in October. It took 3 months, 4 lithotripsies, and 1 surgery for it to finally pass. Since then, I have done the 24 hr urine collection, and been to the doc for the 6 month check up.... The results of the urine collection show that I have too much protien and calcium!!! What type of a diet shoud I be eating?

I will do pretty much anything to prevent another kidney stone.

Hello. I am trying to recover from anorexia. I was around 90-92 lbs, now I am 100-102 lbs. I am 5'4" and 17 years old.
I went up because I started binging a lot, and man was I hungry. Now I am less hungry and have a nutritionist to help normalize my eating habits and maintain around my current weight. For a couple days I was eating about 6-7 small meals a day and working out (1 hr cardio, 15 mins weights, 1 hr yoga most days). Now (today) I have returned back to the binging habit and am very worried! I ate close to 1600 calories just this morning and it's only 10 am! I just was so hungry still and felt like I couldn't get full?

What is going on? I am so worried! I feel like I have to work out now! I feel so trapped. Any suggestions as to what is going on? I really don't want to gain lotsa weight!

Iam a 28 yo female. For the past few months I have been having pain on the side of my left breast, slight pain in the left chest area and some pain around my left shoulder blade area. Also I have had a lot of belching. I have a 1 yo daughter and while I was preg. I had a lot of belching also and it seemed to continue after having her. Sometimes I also get lightheadedness. One more thing my BP runs on the low side. Can all this be related to the same issue? My husband thinks it may just all be from stress and anexity.I have an appointment for August but in the mean time I thought I'd see if anyone had any suggestions on what be causing this.

I don't understand these statements . People are saying that your losing weight is mostly determined by your parents . WTF ? I thought it all depended on the fact that you have two legs and a will power. But now i see ******* stating that you can lose weight up to a level , after that it's going to be really hard . And even if you lose weight it's going to come back really fast. What the heck ?
Is there any truth ( i mean scientific truth ) in this f##up statements ? . i am on a thin line here . hanging on a thread ,i wanna lose weight so i can feel better . I realised recently that there has been tremendous emotional abuse i wenth thru . I wanna forget all that **** and be a better person But small stuffaffects me , like these wack *** stupid shitty stmts . i need an expertopinion on this . Not someone who heard it from their friend who heard it from his cousins sisters best friend . No i am requesting ONLY .some good answers.

I recently did a study regarding gestational diabetes and had found such conclusion:

Gestation diabetes in underweight and normal-weight women appears to be related to insulin resistance combined with a deficit in insulin production, whereas insulin resistance - not inadequate insulin production - may underlie it in obese women.

In other words, normal weight women do not produce enough insulin whereas obese women do..

Isn't above contradicts to the fact that normal weight women has the ability to produce insulin and obese women face with insulin disorder??

Your answers are most appreciated as I am very very confuse.

I was in a car accident about a year and half ago. I badly injured my right leg and I can't run, jump, or even walk very far because of the pain. I was very active in the gym but can't go anymore because anything that causes strains on my leg leaves me in pain. Can anyone give me advice of any cardio that I can do at home that won't hurt my leg. I just need something to help me get any kind of cardio work.

My ankle was shattered and thigh bone was broken so anything that puts a lot of strain on it makes it very difficult for me. Any advice or suggestions would be helpful.
