I recently did a study regarding gestational diabetes and had found such conclusion:

Gestation diabetes in underweight and normal-weight women appears to be related to insulin resistance combined with a deficit in insulin production, whereas insulin resistance - not inadequate insulin production - may underlie it in obese women.

In other words, normal weight women do not produce enough insulin whereas obese women do..

Isn't above contradicts to the fact that normal weight women has the ability to produce insulin and obese women face with insulin disorder??

Your answers are most appreciated as I am very very confuse.

gestational diabetes occurs due to the rapid weight gain associated with pregnancy. The woman can produce adequate insulin for her own body, but her body cannot adjust quickly enough to the increased weight and tissues created in pregnancy. The obese woman becomes heavy over a longer period of time so her pancreas can respond by producing more insulin over time, and then the body develops resistance to the insulin and diabetes becomes a problem. The woman with gestational diabetes, is prone to developing insulin resistance later in life, but ordinarily, if she drops the pregnancy weight quickly, the diabetes resolves. If she maintains a normal weight, she may never develop diabetes. So basically it is her body's inability to adjust to the rapid changes going on as a result of pregnancy.

Normal weight women do not produce enough insulin and this leads to diabetes.
Obese women produce more than enough insulin but the cells that are supposed to react to the insulin can't. It's a defect in the insulin receptors not insulin production. No matter how much insulin you put out if your cells are not able to react to it, it's useless and this leads to diabetes.

Obease women produce high amounts of insulin, this is why they are more prone to developing diabetic problems. normal weight women do not have excessive amounts of diabeties, however, can increase their insulin level to a productive norm, with excercise, and a diet consisting of high carbohydrates, noodles, and other types of bland type starch type foods, to promot equlibrium to the systems sugar cells.
