Hello. I am trying to recover from anorexia. I was around 90-92 lbs, now I am 100-102 lbs. I am 5'4" and 17 years old.
I went up because I started binging a lot, and man was I hungry. Now I am less hungry and have a nutritionist to help normalize my eating habits and maintain around my current weight. For a couple days I was eating about 6-7 small meals a day and working out (1 hr cardio, 15 mins weights, 1 hr yoga most days). Now (today) I have returned back to the binging habit and am very worried! I ate close to 1600 calories just this morning and it's only 10 am! I just was so hungry still and felt like I couldn't get full?

What is going on? I am so worried! I feel like I have to work out now! I feel so trapped. Any suggestions as to what is going on? I really don't want to gain lotsa weight!

You must have needed the calories. You are only 100-102 pounds. That's pretty low.
Your body cried for nutrition and you responded. This is the way it is supposed to work, but don't feed your hunger with just anything. Eat high nutrition foods. You are recovering from a serious illness!

First of all, your mindset must be right and the best thing you can do to support that is through healthy food...primarily Raw plant-based food is the best. And, the best thing about it is that it's easy, delicious and you feel the best ever (mentally, emotionally and physically).

Here are other things that will help you:
Make sure you don't have any food that could be binge-worthy in your house. This means that if you decide to binge, you have to go to the store to get it...which you might not do because it really throws it in your face that you're making a separate trip to the store just to binge.

Keep a journal for a few reasons and use it EVERYDAY! Carry it with you everywhere. Go buy yourself a real cool one, check out Borders or Barnes-n-noble because they have some cool looking ones. Get some special pens and even stickers. I might sound silly, but this is the kind of stuff that works. It inspires you to write in it and not just toss it aside. Keep it with you where ever you go, so if you're stuck in line waiting somewhere, you can jot down few notes. Keep in on your night stand at night so you can write in it at night if that's the best time for you.

The following is helpful:

1. Write down everything you eat...it makes it less likely to binge.

2. Write down 3 things you're grateful for every day. Even if it's the same 3 things every day.

3. Use this to write your thoughts of what's going through your head during the day when you're feeling weak, when you're feeling strong, anything. It's so cool when you go back and read this stuff later. It inspires you and truly helps!

Other ideas that might help:
1. Listen to some kick *** music when you feel like binging....like Gloria Gaynor "I Will Survive" or "Eye of the Tiger" from the Rocky movie. Or, whatever your favorite HAPPY AND ENERGIZING tunes are.

2. Go to a movie.

3. Drop and do 20! (pushups that is!)

4. Get a jump rope and jump rope right in your house (if you can) for 60 seconds, then do all of the above.

Hope this helps.
Cheers!

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

Hey Hun I'm happy to hear your recovering from this. I know the pressure of wanting to be slim I've been through it also....the thing is you never notice that your slim (Someone else always points it out to you)

Don't go stuffing yourself you will just end up with stretch marks eat health fats like pasta rice brown bread "fatty foods" will help you gain weight but there more likely to bring spots and clogged arteries.

Eat when you feel hungry exercise less because you have a very high metabolism so you burn fat quick you will gain weight in know time

Also milky drinks like milkshakes will help.

If you are eating that much, and are still hungry, then your body is craving that food energy. Most likely your work out is using more calories than you realize. Those calories need to be replaced, so your body tells you that by making you hungry.
Make sure you are getting plenty of water, too. Often we misconstrue thirst as hunger.
