No.

Viruses are very hard to kill. The best we have come to killing viruses is to just prevent contracting them in the first place.

There are several vaccines out there that can prevent diseases, like the MMR vaccine (measles, mumps, rubella), hepatitis A & B, and the varicella vaccine (chickenpox) for example. One of the newest vaccines out is called Gardasil which protects women against contracting 4 different kinds of HPV.

Herpevac, a vaccine for HSV-2 is currently (as of February 2007) undergoing clinical testing in women in the United States and Canada. Previous studies have determined that this vaccine is approximately 70% effective in women, but does not prevent the disease in men.

I think there will be a cure someday, but not in 10 years. I think it'll be a while before a cure is found.

I got identified with herpes (type 2) about 5 years ago, when I was still attending college and had a mindless one-night stand. I know loads of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a massive mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/vPZb0 everything improved.

Not only was I able to eliminate all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This method provided the chance to be happy and experience real love again. Now I want to help others too by sharing this story.

I hope so..but, I doubt it. I think their will be a vacine, much like the HPV vacine in the next few years.
I think the chicken pox is a form of herpes as well, and there is not cure for that now is there?

It's not a real focus in the medical community. It's not life threatening, especially disabling (except emotionally). I hope to have a cure in my lifetime, I don't want to be 60 years old with herpes.

Someone sent this link to me the other day..

Sex lubricant could stop HIV and herpes

No,as it is a virus, and is the same family as chicken pox and shingles, though you can get anti-virals that lessen the attacks.
