I am 15 and my period has always been normal but now it is 3 weeks late and i am worried. I am not sexually active so i know i'm not pregnant. I don't know if any of this is related but I have also been feeling really nauseous, haven't been sleeping well, losing alot of hair (sometimes in small chunks), get very dizzy for no apperent reason, and have been sweating alot when i sleep. I don't really know who to talk to about this because i am on an exchange and don't really feel comfortable asking my correspondant or her family.

a dr in chicago at Northwestern Memorial Hosp. told me I had "stiffening of the heart" in a letter in BLACK AND WHITE. Now after 2 seperate echocardiogram and stress tests by a cardiologist at the same hospital it has been proven my heart is 100 % normal but the hospital has absolutely no empathy or compassion towards me and the fear I had for several days that I was very ill before the cardiologist told me I was ok. The hospital says I misinterpreted the DR's misdiagnosis I have it in a LETTER the DOCTOR MISINTERPRETED THE TESTS and scared the hell out of me for a weekend and 3 days.

After 2 years of chronic tonsilitis, my otherwise healthy 22 year old daughter had her tonsils removed yesterday. There was no stress test done prior to undergoing surgery.

While under anesthesia, she developed an "abnormal" heartbeat which continued throughout the surgery and remained 25% of the time in post-op.

She was sent home; as this was outpatient surgery, but was referred to a cardiologist. My question is this:

Could the heartbeat issue be directly related to the anesthesia or is it truly likely that she has some sort of heart problem?

I know someone who is bipolar, and her employer has made her take time off because she was having difficulty concentrating on her work. They want her to come back, but they act like she is on drugs (they point-blank asked her). Should she tell her employer that there is a vaild reason for her problem, or just write it off as a bad day?

I use proactive and this other that the doctor had me get called Klaron sodium sulfacetamide lotion 10 percent, and Tretinoin Cream, USP 0.05 percent. They work well when clearing my skin. But why is my skin more sensitive? When I try to put lotion it becomes more red and irritated. Before I used the products I had no problem with the lotions. I use Aveeno and just a random lotion thats fragrance free for sensitive skin. My skin also get dry easily now. What can I do to balance it all out?

My precious father died suddenly and unexpectedly (to us - in retrospect, he had an inkling, we believe) at age 65 a year ago. He and my mom had been together since she was 14.

In his last few months, dad told mom a few times how terrific they were, how far they'd come since being impoverished, abused kids in NYC, what a nice family and life they'd built. And that was true. Mom liked to say, "We had it all, like Bogey and Bacall." And she - and we - like to remember dad with smiles and pride, if usually through tears.

Because they had just retired and moved to warmer climes, mom essentially has lost her whole life. (Dad had wanted to stay here but gave mom her wish to live winters warm - and they did get one warm winter together - he died the last day of that winter, in fact.)

She tries: she volunteers, she goes to a craft studio 2x a week for hours, she goes to movies, bingo, lunches. But her main feeling about life is emptiness and 'why bother?'

I have had an absess/lump on my top gum/jaw for 10 days. Antibiotics and penicillin haven't had any affect. I had a apexceptomy 20 months ago in the same place. My dentist is now referring me for another one. Why do they fail and if the route of my tooth has already been cut away and filled, what is the point of doing it again? I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but this morning I woke up and felt that my ear was blocked up and I have a very slight ringing in it. I don't know if this is connected (it's the opposite ear to where the abcess is).
Any ideas please?

I have been working so hard for the past month to lose weight and it just isn't happening. I have been eating 1500-1800 calories a day, drinking tons of water, walking 30 minutes 3 or 4 times a week, and lifting weights nightly. I've also been taking phentermine as an aid in all this.

Well, at the beginning of my attempt at losing weight, I was at 158. Now I'm at 154 and have been for two weeks. Its pretty frustrating to be putting forth all this effort and not seeing my weight go down. Could my lifting weights seriously be keeping the scale from going down? I would be okay with that but it would seem to me that it would take a while for the muscle to replace the fat and that my weight should go down first before going up. And yes, I do feel better and I think I've gotten thinner but I might just be kidding myself.

I was taking 8-10 10mg per day. I've got it down to 2-3 7.5 now. This allows me to "function" but I feel like hell. I am planning on going cold turkey as I have a 3 day weekend coming up. Unfortunately, I can afford my habit and my "guy" always has plenty. This addiction has gone on for 10 years and I am petrified of what it has done to my organs.

I have been having problems with sciatic pain for over a year now. The pain gets so severe that is feels like a knife is being thrust into my hip. I have been to the doctor and X-RAYS are negative, MRI are negative. They are going to send me to a pain management clinic and possible give me epithelia injections. I have been going to a chiropractor and he says my sacroiliac bone keeps coming out of place but there is now indication on the MRI, X-RAYS. It seems I live between tordol shots. I am at the end of my rope and I am curious if anyone has any suggestions or helpful advice.
