i just started taking the birth control pill "YAZ" for my PMDD and to help regulate my heavy and abnormal cycles (i had my tubes tied in 2003). my cycle just ended this past sunday so the symptoms of the PMDD should not be present but i've noticed that i feel irritable, moody, and weepy. could this be because my body is still trying to adjust to the new pill and the hormonal changes?

i've only been on the pill for 4 days now and in the past-my PMDD symptoms usually went away after the 2nd day of my period. my period was stopped by the pill yesterday but i started spotting again today (which i know to be normal).

if anyone is taking this pill and could give me some insight it would be great!! i want to know that eventually these depression-like symptoms will go away-i know i don't have depression and the pmdd should go away once my body is used to the pill

thanks in advance!!!

I already used whitening products (soap, lotion, astringent) and a scar remover made of sunflower oil. but they don't work.
I got the scar from using a hair removing lotion and I didn't know that I had broken skin in one area of my leg. I felt a burning sensation after washing off the lotion and it left a scar (similar to a bruise)

I have them a lot and worry that the symptoms I'm feeling are really a heart attack. So that just makes me panic more. Or I'll worry about getting stomach aches, which will in turn CAUSE them and thus create a cycle of panic. Any tips?

Not trying to make fun of people, I'm honestly just curious. People who literally seem to have no neck whatsoever - their head seems to rest directly on their shoulders - is this an actual medical condition? What causes it? What is it called? Does it have to do with the spine?

Since the 4th grade (i'm currently in the 8th grade) I have had 'blackouts', they only last a few moments, but then I am right back to normal. I do not collapse, but everything goes gray, I cannot hear, and I do not know what is going on. I have told my mother but she insists it's probably nothing. I have been to the doctor but she was not much help, she hardly answered my questions and had no suggestions whatsoever. This mostly happens randomly, but is often triggered by fluorescent lighting, strobe lights, or extremely bright colors, or quick change in color. It is also caused by high-pitched sounds. I often experience dizziness, and nausea (in and out of these 'blackouts'). What could this be diagnosed as seeing as the doctor is completely impossible to work with. (and yes I am currently in the process of changing pediatricians). I hope my description was thorough, and if you need further details, you are welcome to ask. Thanks in advance.

I have taken vicodin on different occasions and have never felt stomach pains. I just took two for a back ache and my stomach is hurting. i haven't eaten anything for about eight or nine hours, could that be why my stomach is acting up? If so why?

I have been on Effexor XR for 4 months and am moderately satisfied aside from experiencing hair loss and weight gain due to increased appetite.
I would like to try something more effective without those side effects--maybe there is something that will lessen my appetite as well? I suffer from bipolar disorder, marked significantly with major depression and anxiety disorder. I am looking to try medication that will help control my panic attacks and calm violent manic episodes. I don't want to be a med-dependant zombie, but I need something to "sedate" me enough to live a normal life.
I was on Celexa several years before and it didn't help me at all. I have Xanax but it makes me so sleepy that I refuse to take it unless I am having an unbearable panic attack or feel that I won't be able to control my anger. Please tell me what experiences you have had with antidepressant/anti-anxiety meds so I can suggest something new to my doc.

(I posted this under the wrong section, so here it is again. ) Our brother, half-brother to some of us, needs a liver transplant. He is 58. We are his full and half siblings ages 51-65 (there are 6 of us). Questions: Are we too old for one of us to donate a part of our livers? Also our blood types are different. Could some one explain which type can donate to which type? Who can AB negative donate to? We think he is A+, but are waiting for answers to this, so a complete run-down would be appreciated since we all have different blood types and his type is still unknown to us.

Also if someone has donated part of their liver out there, could you please share your experience with us. THANK YOU.

I read for someone my age should eat 1800 calories a day in order to be healthy of course that is a diet that includes veggies, fruits, whole grains, and healthy food like that. But, in order to lose some weight you should cut 500 calories, i am not really over weight but, would like to lose about 10 pounds, so considering the website where i read i should eat 1800 calories a day is saying that is healthy and though i am healthy i could be healthier but i am somewhat a little chubbie, you know what i mean? My question is should i cut 500 calories and exercise or should i eat 1800 calories and exercise? I'm a little confused, i keep hearing different things

Theres so much talk about teens not doing drugs, educating them about smoking and drinking etc. but what about the food and drinks on the shelves of supermarkets. Processed food contains chemicals! Not to mention energy drinks!
Whats you opinion?
What can we do to stop teens from eating and drinking rubbish?

I weight train seriously 3-4 times per week and do 2 other fitness related activities. i am trying to both lose weight and build muscle. i gather i should be eating around th 1.5g of protein per kg i weigh. is this roughly correct? how much protein can be absorbed by the body? ie. is it a waste of money if i eat more than a certain amount of protein in any 1 hour period as some of it will just pass through me?

if anyone knows a figure that for example, "only 20g of protein can be absorbed in any 3 hour period", that would be most helpful to know.

thanks very much!
