Theres so much talk about teens not doing drugs, educating them about smoking and drinking etc. but what about the food and drinks on the shelves of supermarkets. Processed food contains chemicals! Not to mention energy drinks!
Whats you opinion?
What can we do to stop teens from eating and drinking rubbish?

teens have been eating junk food and soda for years and they have not died yet. They usually grow out of it and eat healthier. I personally drank 2 2litter bottles of pepsi when I was a teen everyday. Now I can't stand it. the only thing I lke to drink is water. I think teens today have enough problems. We keep pushing them they are going to revolt. They have allready been taught since kindagarden what are good foods and what to eat. as I have gotten a letter every week for 10 years. Now they are in high school give them a friggen brake. The foods are fda approved . I think you will find in a few years they will kill for a good meal. And rember as I am being told right now you have to let them go some day. Put the vending machines back in school. Show them we trust them to make good decisions. Besides we have bigger issues with them to fight about .

People will eat and drink whatever they want. There's really no way to stop this. Even so, if you think processed food and energy drinks/soda are bad for you then don't consume these things. The energy that's supplied by those drinks is just sugar so the energy doesn't really last. Same for those energy bars, plus these are generally loaded with fat so they don't taste like sawdust or hay trying to imitate chocolate.

There's no actual evidence that processed food is necessarily bad for you; but it's better to eat food that hasn't gone through processing where stuff is taken away and often added back. Have an apple instead of a Hershey bar. Drink some fruit juice instead of that Coca-Cola. You get my drift here.

energy drinks/soda and processed food is harming the youth I agree but not only because of chemicals but also because eating these food the youth are losing their appettite and are not eating the normal food due to which they are losing the health. The best thing would be compulsory YOGA at schools and this would bring them all with sound health.

In a way yes, these are the cause of common depression among teenagers. These drinks can cause teenagers to go on a high, and later when the high has passed, they go on a huge low, causing them to get depressed.

Yeah I think the food now is really bad... everything is big and greasy and cheap and fast and "to go." I almost forget the last time my mom actually cooked and that is why we are getting fatter and slower. It is very sad and hard to stop... but teenagers like me should start with themselves and spread the healthy habits...

YES, VERY MUCH SO!!! And the people making it available, esp in schools should be sued/prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for ruining the health of our kids!!!!

Nope, if kept in moderation none of the above will harm you.
