Recently, I badly sprained my right ankle. Now, a couple days later, I am noticing a large bump forming on my lower right left, a few inches above the ankle, and right along the bone. What could this mean? Did I do more damage than I thought?

Why is bacterial vaginosis classified as an STD when there are many other ways to get this even if you are not currently sexually active, like by wiping incorrectly or bad diet. Can someone please clear this up for me?

My son got dianogsed with asthma a year ago and now he is six. Well he is on 4 meds every day...Sungular, Clariatan, Nasonax and Pulmicort. He went to the doctor yesterday and had to get 2 breathing treatments back to back.. They put him on Predisone, Zopanex and an antibiotic for an ear infection. Well last night I had to call the doctor and she pushed his treatment up to every 4 hours through the night. He was complaining of a severe headache and has been on all these meds before when he was in the hospital last year and never complained of a headache. The is still coughing and wheezing with all of these meds..What could the headache come from and will all these meds in his system for 24 hours and with zopanex being a rescue medication shouldn't he be at least a little better this morning.. I am calling the doctor when they open but just wanted some opnions.. I am new to this asthma thing. Again he is on. Singular, Clairatan, Nasonax, Pulmicort, Predisone, Zopanex and an antibioic.

I'm a 37 year old woman, 5'8 and 240lbs. 3 weeks ago I began to diet(1200-1500 calories daily) and exercise(3x weekly 45 min.cardio & 3x weekly weight training at gym). I have lost a grand total of 1lb.

What am I doing wrong? I don't understand how I can go from not being active at all to being this active and cut my calories in half and still have nothing to show for it. I hear all of these amazing stories of how people cut out soda or start walking 15 minutes a day and lose 20lbs, I go all out and get a whopping 1 lb.

Please help.

My daughter's right big toe had an ingrown nail. We soaked it in epsom salts for a few days off and on, and it eventually got soft enough for it to be cut. Now she has a nice, straight across cut that will work well for her as it heals.

Until then, though, the area that had the nail imbedded is very sore and feels almost as bad to her as when the nail was ingrown. We've tried putting a little rubbing alcohol on that area to dry the skin out, but she says it doesn't help.

Anyone have any tips for helping the healing AFTER the nail has been cut?

My friend has given birth to a boy. He is a week old now but hasnt opened his eyes, he cant move his muscles or breath on his own. My friend had too much amniotic fluid and was induced 2 weeks early (scans did not show anything was wrong with the baby before birth). The doctors dont know what is causing this and are holding out no hope for the little one and want to switch off his ventilator. Has anyone ever heard or seen these symptoms before or maybe have an idea what could be causing these symptoms? My fingers are crossed!
