my answer would be C, then B. reason, teens are sceptical of any adult and they need to be assured that what they tell you won't be talk about like tabloid papers.

all nurses should be compassionate, but they are not. until you have walked in a nurses shoes, try not to judge them. not only do we have patients irate at us because of the doctors, we have doctors talking down to us as if we are morons. but that is what we are here for, to be the go between and to make sure that our patients get the care they need.

just an added note, I just had one of my patients tell me that I was the "sweetest nurse" they know. that is my reward!!!

B. Active listening; good therapeutic communication. You can show compassion by allowing the adolescent to verbalize what s/he feels or is trying to say.

none of the above. that is what is wrong with nurses today. there first priority should be compasion. understanding.
