i have started going to the gym this week and i have been going 2 days a week for about an hour an a half. I have been using the rowing machine, exersise bikeand the uphill jogger thing (dont know what it is called) i am trying to lose excess fat on my stomach, bum, arms and thighs... what are the best machines for toning up and losing fat on these areas???

Anything cardio related (elliptical, treadmill or bike) will help you burn off the fat. You should also do some of the weight machines, as the more muscles you have , the more fat you will burn. Do some of the weighted ab machines, leg press & the free weights (for your arms). I personally like using the elliptical for my cardio b/c I set it to a higher ramp & resistance, so that it will also work my butt. Just be careful to slowly raise the resistance over time. I pushed myself too much/too soon on tuesday, so, I was deeply regretting it on wednesday. ( I normally do an hour on the elliptical & had "decided" to really up the resistance for the last 20 min......bad idea *lol*). Anyways, most ellipticals will actually show which are of the leg the ramp incline targets, so, you can do one specific muscle, or, you can target the whole leg (which, if you are worried about your thighs, you may want to do)

lift weights. The more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn. Try some of the back, shoulder, leg, thigh, and abdominal machines.

spend the as much time on the up hill jogger as you can, (incline tredmill) just get your heart rate up and I would try to go 3-4 times a week not just 2
