my kids loves grilled cheese sandwiches but we only eat humane dairy products. there's a local dairy farm that provides humane milk, butter and cream. however they dont make cheese. i see the alternative cheese slices but do they melt?

our kraft cheese slices is the only thin in our fridge that is inhumane. lol weird i know but any suggestions as a substitute would be nice.

If I become a vegetarian how would I get all the nutrients that I lose from not eating meat? What are some of the pros and cons of being vegetarian? What kinds of foods do vegetarians eat.

why are you vegan? Just curious. Is it more cuz you don't want to eat animals, or is this your way of objecting to the slaughter and "inhuman" treatment?

We are having our annual celebration dinner with my animal rights club. One member now wants to bring champaign to toast our success in the past year converting so many immoral people to become vegans, we are almost 100% sucessful when we get ahold of someone. I think alcohol is immoral and some champaign is not vegan. Should I tell him no?

Hey, I have just decided to become a vegan. I'm starting out as a vegetarian (i don't drink milk, eat eggs, etc.) but i don't buy vegan bread and other snack foods. Could you tell me the best vegan bread brand, and some other snacks? Also, meal ideas are good too (recipes, websites with recipes, etc.) thanks!

Actually, i'm going for my physical.
But while in the car to go there I was planning on telling my mom that I want to be a vegetarian.
I've asked before and she said that i need a balanced diet so no.
And she'll say no again. But if I have a doctor to tell her that its a good choice then maybe she'll say yes.
But i've heard that there are old-fashioned doctors that still think that being vegetarian is unhealthy. How would I tell if they were old-fashioned, like if they're old? Also what do I need to tell my mom in the car, that'll some how convince her too.

There are many strong opinions regarding the production of food on a farm some good yet many people seem to disagree about animal production and how they perceive that they are cared for. How do you recieve this information? Have you seen this first hand or have found the information through another source? Would you visit a farm?

based on observations, no insult intended

1) Respect or deification of animals – this is similar to some Hindu sects which consider animals such as cows, monkeys and rats as personifications of a deities or ancestral spirits. They are venerated and untouchable as food or any kind of material use.
2) Rituals – similar to religious rituals which are adhered to by its followers such as not using any utensils, cooking implements that have been used to cook meat and meat products. the non-consumption of plant “Fire” foods such as garlic and onions.
3) Codified set of rules/commandments – similar to Catholics/Christian Ten Commandments i.e. “thou shall not…”
4) Prophets /Saints- Authors/advocates/pioneers/activists of the lifestyle have been quoted endlessly and with complete trust and reverence their works/studies regarded as
sacred and unassailable like the Bible or the Quran.
5) Existence of various labels for different levels of practice such as ovo-lacto or ovo or pescetarian or strict vegan/vegetarian similar to the various sects within a major religion
6) It even has its own set fanatical followers or zealots unable or unwilling to accept any argument to the contrary, compromise existence with non-followers and intolerant of dissent. – PETA is similar to ultra Catholic’s ultra conservative Opus Dei? Or the various freedom fighters regarded by terrorists in most countries?

Why is it so hard for people to accept that i want to be a vegetarian?

What do you honestly think of someone who decides they do not want to eat animal flesh any longer?

I have been a semi-vegetarian for the past 4 months. Semi, as in I don't touch any meat outside of my house.
My parents found a book about vegetarianism in my room.
This was when I was a 24/7 vegetarian.
They told me "I found some disturbing books in your room about vegetarianism. are you trying to become a vegetarian?" I said "Yes." they said "Why?" i said "Because its healthier." and then they were like "You need a balanced diet to survive." I was like "No,there are a lot of vegetarians that are completely healthy. I can get all my nutrients from vegetables." and they were still like "You need a balanced diet. end of disscussion!" And I was eating stir fry and it had sesame chicken with it. So i was eating stir fry .My dad just stayed and said "i'm not leaving untill you eat it all." So from then on I only eat meat when with my parents. We're going tomorrow for my physical. I'm thinking about asking my mom to ask the doctor about me being a vegetarian. What should I ask her to ask

Why do people assume that because I eat meat that I am going to grow up unhealthy and die early. Eating meat doesn't give you heart problems and cancer. Eating Greasy SOYBEAN McDonalds FAKE MEAT BURGERS 5 times a day does.

I eat 2-3 servings of meat(palm size not that jumbo steak) and drink 2-3 servings of milk when I can. That way I get my nutrients. Eating meat isn't bad for you if avoid deep frying it in pig lard and slather it in butter and grease while toping it with fat drippings. I am tired of hearing "because I am vegetarian that I won't have such a high percentage of heart disease or getting cancer" Vegans never want to acknowledge that vegan diets can cause anemia, rickets, cretinism, osteomalacia, and hyperthyroidism.

Also a vegitarian diet can be beneficial to you but please be one for the RIGHT reason which is your body.

Saying "EATING DEAD CARCUSS IS NASTY AND GROSS!" is not only a poor excuse but they make other veggie fans look bad and ignorant.
