Why is it so hard for people to accept that i want to be a vegetarian?

What do you honestly think of someone who decides they do not want to eat animal flesh any longer?

Because some people fear changes and things that are different. Some people are attached to their eating meat, and a vegetarian in their midst reminds them of what they're eating.

Check out "Living Among Meat Eaters" by Carol J. Adams for insight into why people bash veg*ans.

people have grown up with the misguided understanding that you need meat to live a healthy life and without it you will get sick, have no energy and a few other things. The fact red meat company's continue to advertises such things on tv and radio reinforces such beliefs in some people. With time most people will come to understand that there is no negative to what you are doing and infact may see the positive due to a heather lifestyle that often accompanys a varied vegan diet and lifestyle.
if someone does not understand it is there shallow mindedness and there loss not yours.

I have no problem at all with a person who decides not to eat animal flesh. Even though I do like meat (sorry) I find it interesting to find nice vegan choices for my friends and relatives who don't eat meat. It can be a lot of fun experimenting with soy products and different types of beans. I have a lot of vegan friends and always try to top myself when attending pot luck dinners.

I think that someone who makes that decision have made the only rational and moral choice.

If you have the opportunity, show the people a slaughterhouse video, and they will understand.
