to go vegan- after reading 'The China Study' by t.colin campbell it was easy. i blogged my decision one day and have pretty much stuck. now i've discovered products that are so wonderful too.. 'tofutti better than cream cheese', also 'tofutti better than sour cream' and i go online for recipes. i like veganyumyum.com and vegweb.com you can also watch the movie 'Earthlings' for inspiration. i've never been too sugar crazy thank goodness, i know thats poison. just cut out soda, white rice, white bread and processed foods. use maple syrup or stevia as sweeteners, the fake stuff is just as bad. good luck! so worth it!

Don't go cold turkey on the sugar, especially if you eat a lot of it. Taper off slowly. I wouldn't do low-sugar and vegan at the same time. It'll set you up for more stress and amplify the cravings/difficulties. Got it? That's my advice.
Keep some dried fruit around for sugar cravings. Now, understand that this is still sugary, but it's not processed sugar. (In short, it will satisfy your sweet tooth but get you used to natural sweet instead of the kind that comes with empty calories.) I especially love dried pears. Mmmm.
As for vegan, I still suggest going slowly. Cut out meat or dairy first. If you're not used to eating legumes, you'll have a really hard time adjusting suddenly. Better, I think, to get used to it slowly. Going from low or no legumes to more than one serving daily might be a shock. So don't go whole hog tomorrow. Start slowly today.
Note: if your lifestyle is already fairly healthy and your digestive system can handle lots of beans and bean products, go for it. But don't cut sugar at the same time. Give yourself a month or more to adjust to veganism before you cut out the sugar, too.

First of all since you're gonna be a new vegan take it slowly.
If you stop eating everything at once you'll get discouraged and it becomes difficult.
First cut out red meat, then poulty, then fish, the eggs, dairy, sugar (not necessarily in that order) cut them out each month though.
For foods you can eat:
veggie burgers
beans
lots of fruits and vegetables
nuts (in small portions to avoid too many fats)
soups
creative pastas
I make lasanga with whole wheat pasta, spinach, homemade marinara sauce, and soy cheese.
You can go on food network and find vegetarian recipes there or epicurious.com and allrecipes.com, just exchange the foods you don't eat like dairy and sugar for vegan subs.
Swap recipes with your vegetarian friends!!

there are various stuff that maximum folk consume that are additionally vegan. extremely some pastas are easily vegan so a field of spaghetti and sauce will value you under 5 funds and which could feed a family contributors of four so because it somewhat is a miles less high priced meal. additionally beans are much less high priced, soymilk isn't anymore than known milk. in case you do the vegan existence form good, than it might value you below being a meat eater. attempt transforming into your guy or woman vegetables once you may, and in case you reside someplace the place there's a wintry climate than improve each and all the vegetables you may interior the summertime and freeze what you may throughout the time of the wintry climate. you basically could get inventive.

Tell your family and friends of your decision. It is much more difficult to cheat when there are people monitoring you.
