I love broccoli.
I have no idea why anyone would hate it,- let alone Bush's father who I can't understand why anyone would like.

After much consideration, I have decided to live a vegetarian lifestyle. I have the full support of my family which has transitioned with me. Unfourtunately, I am beginning to feel nauseous and sick. I take a multi-vitamin each day and I also take daily flax seed supplements. Is my body rejecting this change or is it detoxing years of destruction. I eat well balanced meals of fresh vegetables and fruits and I also consume plenty of protein and fish. What else do I need to do? Before making this change, I suffered from horrible migraines, I must say that for the past month, I have not had one. At the beginning, I felt energized and rejuvenated, now, I feel like there is something going on in my body. I honestly do believe that my body is catching up with my mind and dealing with the fact of being a HEALTHY INDIVIDUAL!

Give me your advice!

Has anyone else experienced these symptoms in the beginning?

Is there any specific group of people that NEED meat? (Blood types)

She is a major christian, and she says the reason that God put animals on earth was for us to eat them.

I understand this, and the reason I don't want to eat meat is not because its eating animals, but its the way the animals live their lives and are killed is what bothers me so much.

Does my teacher have any room to tell me these things. What do you think about it

Why do vegans and vegetarians hate flexitarians? Is it the name? Or is it that once a month or a couple of times a yr.(holdiday and social events) that these people may feel the need to eat a little bit of meat. I you eat meat more than once a month you are an omnivoure. I see nothing wrong w/ being a vegetarian most days of my life and then having a slice or 2 of turkey on thankgiving(free range of course). Thoughts and opinions pls. No bashing. Thanks in advance for your responses.

I'm spending the day at my moms, she is cooking the turkey and I am making all the side dishes and dessert, my family are all ok with them being vegan (after much debate about marshmallows as the topping for sweet potatoes--my family was h*ll bent on them but we finally settled on finely ground pecans & walnuts). I am trying a tofurkey for the first time.

I am thankful for my youngest son being out of the Army after 3 years of service. He moved out of the apartment on base a month ago, but he is officially out of the Army as of Nov 23, 2007

For those of you in other countries, do you have a similar type holiday as Thanksgiving?

Did you ever go to a restaurant where there was NOTHING vegan- or vegetarian-friendly on the menu? How often? It sometimes happens to me and it is SO annoying!

My friend made an immoral mistake last night. He ate escargo!! What is worse is that he said he liked it. I told him how immoral that act was, but he acted like he didn't care. He said that escargo are insects not animals and he thought it was fine and was going to try grubs next! He went vegan two months ago, when I presurred him into it. I am very successful at vegan persuasion. Should I disown him as a friend for being so immoral?

I once got sick from going to a vegan restaurant and ordering a steamed artichoke with tofu aioli. I went home a was very nauseous and threw up. A friend says it is impossible to get sick from restaurants that do not serve meat or dairy. Is this true? It would seem logical to me that bacteria knows no bounds and can contaminate any type of food, no?

I'm a vegetarian, so I get used to people saying things to 'get at me' about meat and things, but whatever I don't mind if you eat meat, its your choice, so I'd like some serious answers about this...

The new Viva! campaign says that animals farmed for meat produce more CO2 than the entire worlds transport system, and someone I know denounced this as rubbish and that these kind of animals are 'good for the enviroment' but didn't say why. And that if we all went vegetarian and didn't eat meat that the enviroment would be in a worse state. But surely there'd be less animals because of less demand and therefore less CO2 emissions?

I'm just wondering, how do animals mass produced for meat 'help' the enviroment?

If you are a vegetarian for reasons of ethics, are you also pro-life? If not why? Aren't you being hypocritical?

I can't imagine my life without stuff like cheese or eggs.... I think if I ever became a vegetarian, I would be lacto-ovo and cheat sometimes with seafood...(I already don't eat much red meat)

Being vegan is out of the question, cause I can't live without chocolate, nor do i want to...

What about you? If you weren't raised vegetarian, was it hard to transition? And did you do it for health or humanitarian reasons? I don't really have an objection to eating animals, but i know it's possible to live without. I've been thinking about transitioning for a while but I don't think I will ever actually do it, because I just don't see myself limiting my food choices, or having to tell someone "I can't eat that, I'm a vegetarian".

What about you?

I am a full blown vegeterian. I don't eat fish either, like some other vegies do. What is a good suggestion for me to have on thanks giving? I have heard of a tofu turkey, but I don't know how to make it. Any advice? Much appriciated.
