Vegetarians do not eat chicken. Some people call themselves vegetarian and still eat fish, but to be accurate, a vegetarian eats no meat, poultry, fish, etc.

Chickens are animals, vegetarianism is about not eating animals. Whether the flesh of certain animals is "meat" or not has no meaning in the context of vegetarianism.
I have been vegetarian for 23 years and I wouldn't consider someone who eats chicken to be a vegetarian.

Vegetarians "can" eat whatever they want. They chose not to eat meat, which is what a chicken is. Some vegetarians do eat chicken and fish and dairy, other vegetarians don't eat meat at all. Then there are vegan vegetarians, who don't eat anything that ever had a face or a mother.....no meat, fish, dairy, eggs, or anything which contains animal products such as lard , etc. Then there are those who only eat vegetables or fruit, and only "raw" food, because it's "live" food...because cooking kills some of the nutrients in the food, especially if you cook it at high temperatures. If you cook vegetables, you should always cook them at a low heat, just cook them longer, then they will retain more of their goodness. Don't get me started, sorry.
does this help?

The last I knew, chickens are animals, not vegetables. As a vegetarian of over thirty years, I choose to eat eggs, which are not
vegetables, but never flesh of a living animal. My children are vegans and eat no
animal products at all. Vegetarian is a misnomer.

Vegetarians do not eat chicken. By definition a vegetarian is a person who does not eat or does not believe in eating meat, fish, fowl, or, in some cases, any food derived from animals, as eggs or cheese, but subsists on vegetables, fruits, nuts, grain, etc.
Some people may eat chicken and call themselves vegetarian, but in reality they are not. You can call yourself anything, but that does not make it so.

a vegetarian doesn't eat anything from a dead animal so no flesh, no skin, nothing that adds cow intestine and stuff like that of course some do eat all these things but they are not strictly vegetarian. read the link in my sources for a nice description of the different forms of vegetarians and that lists what is strictly not vegetarian but what some eat

Hey kids...chickens are not mammals, they are birds. Birds are not mammals. Vegetarians don't eat things that were born. Vegans don't eat things that things that were born secrete. If you want to be a vegetarian don't eat any animals. Why is this so complicated? If you don't eat red meat, you don't eat red meat. You're not a vegetarian.
