a whole wheat bagel is the best option. a whole wheat bagel has a good amount of protein(about 6-9 grams of protein per bagel) and is a whole grain. they are low in fat(about 0.5-2 grams of fat per bagel) and cholesterol free. anywhere from 150-250 calories (not that many) and sugar free (or 1-3 grams of sugar,if any..). whole wheat bagels are really healthy, nutritious and delicious..just don't add fattening toppings like oily butter, cheese, etc..because THOSE things are what aren't healthy. eat it plain and toasted or add a thin layer of peanut butter if anything..bon'appetite! xoxoxoxx

Well 1 bagel fountains as much calories as 6 pieces of toast. You should just steak wih a whole wheat toast. 1 only Scrambled eggs. Well was it 1 or 2 or 3 eggs? How big we're they? Any fruit? Like half a apple of some grapes or a banana? For the milk is it skim milk 1% 2% etc? What about some water you need water a lot of it too. How much milk did you serve yourself? Oz wise. It's a okay breakfast. I guess. You could have 1 small sables egg 1 piece of whole 100% wheat toast. A fruit of any kind but not much 6-8 ounces of milk or water and no juice and you can replace the fruit with non fat yogurt

For fat and cholesterol i would say the bagel is healthier but if it is for protein for the most part i would say an egg. But it also depends on the kind of bagel.

From a cholesterol and fat perspective, the bagel has less of both. However, the egg is still better for you. It's got protein and other nutrients, plus it will keep you full longer.

egg bagel is full of carbs which is usually high fat. if you're like me the bagel needs some cream cheese on top and a little strawberry jam then it's extra fatty. egg but just the whites is a better bet.

I would say an egg is better even though they are high in cholesterol and everyone freaks out about it. They are high in protein. A bagel is all carbohydrates and has little nutritional value.

Eggs have alot of cholsterol in them, but not so much so that you have to avoid them completely. They say Eggs should be eaten once or twice a week. An egg contains about 100 calories, so it can be part of a low calorie breakfast if prepared the right way.
Bagels have VERY little nurtritional value. Maybe a whole grain bagel, (for fiber) but not a white one (and forget it if you are eating one of the sugary sweet ones) A big one from a bagel place contains about 400-500 calories alone, without shmear! or butter, or anything.
**edit**
I must ask though, why is this in the veggie/vegan section? I mean, dont vegans not eat eggs? Shouldn't this be in the diet/fitness section?
