You should become vegetarian for whatever reason feels right to you! I initially became vegetarian because of factory farming and cruelty to animals, but the more I read and learned, the more reasons I had to remain vegetarian and ultimately become vegan. My husband became vegetarian for environmental reasons, and also later learned about all of the other reasons. Everyone comes into it in their own way. So, I say you should go for it! And then keep learning about all aspects of vegetarianism...it will help you stick with your decision and feel even better about it. Good luck.

The funny thing is the ethical question is probably the most likely reason most people and those are mostly women become vegan or vegetarians, me I am a former chef have cooked all over the world eaten every thing from A-Z, and have cooked in many different kitchens.

I became a vegetarian for health reasons, I am a diabetic and wanted to lower my cholesterol, fat intake, eat healthier and take some of the heavier thing out of my diet. I would say for those who made the ethical choice, "BRAVO", it takes alot of resolve to do this, for a health reasons, there are just as many veggie otions and ways to cook things as with a meat based diet.

Being a vegetarian or vegan is a choice that only you can make. And the reasons you decide to do this are your own. If you have to be asking if it is ok or if your thoughts on meat are normal then yes it is ok and yes it is normal. Be true to what you feel and what you believe in!

You want to stop eating meat for health reasons then do it!

People are vegetarian for a variety of different reasons - some do it because they don't feel comfortable eating animals or supporting the conditions seen in the animal industry, others do it for their health, others do it for their religious beliefs. Your reason (not wanting to eat meats filled with hormones) is a valid reason -- you are doing it for your health. Sounds good to me. Just make sure that you're getting enough of the nutrients that meat usually provides in your diet - protein, etc.

You can become a vegetarian for any reason you want. I initially wanted to eat a healthier diet and it didn't make sense to me to eat meat and then I learned about how awfully animals are treated. Now there are MANY reasons I'm a vegetarian. You should check out the book Diet for a New America. Trust me! OH, and get MAd Cowboy, too - it'll tell you a LOT about what they do to meat - gross!

Yeah, I'm a vegetarian and not just 'cause of the whole "it's torture for the animals" thing, although it probably is. I'm a vegetarian for my health not theirs. Besides I've been a vegetarian all my life, and I can't imagine eating anything dead, it just sounds disgusting. I think that anyone who wants to be a vegetarian should be.

A vegetarian is simply someone who chooses, for whatever reason, not to partake of animal flesh. You can be a vegetarian because you care about animals, because you believe it's healthier, because you think eating meat is gross, because your religion dictates it, or simply because you feel like it. It's a personal decision and it's yours alone.

there are a million reasons why someone would wish to be a vegetarian all of them as valid as each other.
if anyone ever thinks otherwise they have an extreamly small mind just like the people who think no one should be anything but a meat eater your life is yours to do with it as you wish.
GL with your decision

Of course it is...I know people who are vegetarians because they just don't like the taste of meat. I also know this girl who was a vegetarian in high school cuz her mom decided to be a vegetarian and her mom was the one who cooked in the house.

Vegetarian means you don't eat meat...and hey, vegetarians that do it for animal rights reasons like it cuz that means it goes towards the vegetarian culture.

Yes, that is perfectly OK. I became a vegetarian because i think that red meat is horrible for you. Why worry about whatever reason as long as it suits you anyway?
