The plant population would deminish drastically, and the animal population would rocket, this would cause a huge imbalance in the food chain causing a collapse.

Right?

They act as though animals 'feelings' and 'suffering' are equally imortaint as humans.

Should i take offense to that because they are saying we are no better than animals? IN FACT, some of these people regard animal rights ABOVE human rights.

In the past month alone, I have seen 2 advertisements that made me angry and upset. It's this kind of attitude that makes people automatically think vegetarians and vegans are depriving themselves.

The first one was a full-page ad in a popular fashion & culture magazine that said: "We Love Vegetarians. More Meat For Us"... paid for none other than the beef industry (ha ha).

The second was a billboard in a neighboring city. I was driving home when I saw this enormous Jack In The Box burger filled with, like, 3 kinds of meats, and it said, "Vegetariano? Lastima!", which means "Vegetarian? Pity!" (Could also mean "What a shame" or "I sorry for you").

Have you seen this kind of propaganda lately?

I mean i know you might say 'carnivore', but vegetarians aren't called herbivores, and the reason for this is, If I remember correctly, vegetarianism and veganism refers to the diet AND the philosophy of not eating animals.

So, what is the diet and philosophy of not eating poor defenseless plants? Meatatarianism?

yes it's true a lot of animals are killed each year for food and yes a lot of times it'd not done in a "humane"way, but at least we don't eat live carrots, just cause you can't hear them scream or see them cry doesn't make them any different than an animal.food is food if you don't like it don't eat it, Keep your personal choice personal.besides most vegans i know still drink milk and eat eggs or food that has been fried in animal fat.

Don't people going on that diet check it out before they decide to do it?
It's like can I eat this, can I eat that?
Why not just eat what you want to?
You are not going to die if you eat one thing of what someone else says you shouldn't eat.
Have some responsibility for yourself and don't worry about it so much. You are going to get an ulcer from worrying about what you eat.

I've been a vegetarian for a couple of months now and have continued to eat cheese and eggs. Recently I was told that some cheese has enzymes from baby cow's stomaches. When you look at the ingrediant list it just says enzymes. How do you know what type of enzyme is in the cheese? Any links would be appreciated. I'm especially interested in sliced cheese.

Isn't it difficult to find something to eat?

2007-08-13 05:27:07 · 14 answers · asked by Anonymous

well, she does to some extent...but she believes that i NEED meat for the protein/iron whatever, even though i tell her you can get these from other foods..
she also says that i have to get permission from a doctor before i can be a vegetarian. (i'm 14 and ive been veg for two months, since i've learned of how the animals are treated and that i dont even need to eat animal products)
i know she's just worried about me but do you think this is fair? i know that anyone any age can be a perfectly healthy vegetarian, but she and my dad and her friends all seem to be so old fashioned and close minded to the idea of vegetarianism. it seems it will always be a problem with them and they'll never accept it. what do you think of this?
i've also been told that i'll 'go anorexic' if i don't eat meat. (?)

and please, no answers saying 'dont be vegetarian', 'i like meat' etc....they are just annoying and useless.

Id love to know what kind of recipes you cook. I've recently become a Vegan and don't really have much of an imagination. I like indian food and chinese food. Preferably not including soya milk.

Thanks =)

Should we have the freedom to eat what we want if that freedom means the taking of a life?

I hear meat eaters say that what they eat is a personal choice. What if someone chose to eat you? Would that be a personal choice also?

Open your eyes meat eaters! The outfit you chose to wear to a party is a personal choice. The color you decided to paint your house is a personal choice. The taking of an innocent sentient beings life is not a personal choice, it is murder.

So when you say you have the freedom to eat what you want, just know that does not apply to eating animals. From this point forward, I ask that you no longer use that excuse.

As we all know, medical science has proven that eating meat leads to health problems and eventually death. I do believe that eating meat will eventually be made against the law within the next 25 years. The UK government is already talking about it.

My question is this. Do you believe that meat eating will finally be over by the year 2032? If not, please explain why you feel that way.
