I think I heard that if you cook a food with fiber it softens the fibers, and it's not as good for you as the raw stuff. But you obviously can't eat uncooked beans though.

So I'm confused, I thought that we needed milk for strong bones and for calcium and stuff. Do we? Or is milk bad for you? If it is, how do you get calcium and strong bones?

A lot of people who come here want to know how to slowly become vegetarian.
One of the more followed methods is to drop one type of animal at a time from your diet, starting with cow, then moving toward pigs etc. and ending after sea animals.

Anyway, I was reading something the other day that said it may be even better to start with the chickens and fish and end with cow because each plate of fish = a dead fish, but it takes many plates of steak to equal the death of a cow.

Any thoughts?
People just ask here frequently and I was wondering if this method made sense (to people who want to go veg.)

I walking down the street the other day while wearing my Michael Vick jersay and two memeber of PETA told me to take it off. I told them no and then I start mugging me and ripped it off and set it on fire. Then they started kicking me while I was on the ground.

Do all memeber of PEtA act this way?

Can I sue PETA?

Why is an animal more important than me?

Here is a question on here posted by a vegan

Why do people think it is okay to eat meat?
I am trying to convince my new neighbors to stop eating meat, but they told me that it was okay because it was food? That is their only excuse.
I know about what time they get home from work so me and my friends are going to be waiting on them in their driveway when they get home. We spent several hours on some nice signs showing the truth about this so called "food" they think is okay to eat.
My question is this, what approaches have you used on meat eaters to get them to stop eating meat? If you are a vegan do you act this way. if you are a non vegan how would

My question is are most vegans this crazy? do they really think this will work to get people to covert? I think it is as effective eas the people who tell you God loves you unconditionally and then telling you if you dont then he will throw you in a fire and let you burn forever.

would you want her for a neighbor?

One of my co-workers is peddling a product by Life Force called Body Balance, which contains Aloe Vera, black cherry, honey and an exclusive blend of 9 sea vegetables. She looks amazing and all of my coworkers that have taken it have done great on it. However, I heard you are not supposed to digest aloe vera in any form (FDA 2000). Have you heard of anyone digesting aloe vera? Would you take it?

i had previously asked a question about raising my children as vegetarian's and the first person that answered was saying something along the lines of "yay, let's all raise our kids to be anorexic". i'm vegetarian and i'm nowhere near being anorexic, i love to eat, no lie.
vegetarianism is one of the most healthiest diets out there, why do a lot of people think that it's unhealthy. we dont just eat fruits and veggies, there's lots of food out there with no meat in it.

eating animals is a natural way of life. we are part of the food chain, we are animals created to eat other animals. imagine if all of us were vegetarians the cows and pigs would overpopulate.

well...that theory may be a bit off, but i really think we are designed biologically and mentally to eat them. plus they are so tasty.

but sometimes love the fresh change of all veggie dishes, what can I eat to get satisfied. I recently went to an Indian resturaunt, and got full. I would love to continue experience these types of dishes, but I don't think I could handle a life of curry powders and such.

(I am not bashing a vegan or veggie life, I just want to supplent my lifestyle and figured this is the best place.)

Ok heres the deal. My husband and I want to become vegetarians but not cut out eggs, milk or fish. Is there a name for this? Second, I have a really screwed up stomach, colon. I have corosion in my stomach lining from Acid Reflux. (I take prilosec twice daily) I have gas and have had constipation ALL my life. I am allergic to Leeks and I think I am allergic to Scallions (not confirmed). How do I start this type of Vegetarianism and is there a great website where i can get some free help? Also, I have kids who are picky. I need recipes that they will like. I am not much of a cook so they need to be fairly easy. THANKS!!!!!

I ordered some frozen tempeh from a wholefoods website but haven't a clue what it is. It's in a frozen block about the size of my hand.

Can anyone tell me what it tastes like and a good way to cook it? Thanks
