Not at all. Just make sure you get a variety of foods in your diet. This way you get all the nutrients you need without all the nasties you get from eating meat, plus you won't get bored of mixed veggies and salads, lol!
Try getting a vegetarian cookbook if you like cooking. I prefer Complete Vegetarian by Nicola Graimes because it gives about 130 pages of different types of ingredients, their benefits and their uses and really helps you understand your foods, then gives you 300 recipes to try.
Good luck!

No, not if you eat a balanced diet. You don't need to take vitamins if you eat a balanced diet. You don't have to eat red meat, poultry or sea food.
If it was bad for you, my wife and I would both be dead by now.
I've been vegetarian for 24 years, my wife is a Licensed Dietitian and has been a vegetarian since birth. Dietitians are the only true nutrition experts, and are recognized as such by the health care profession.

There is nothing wrong with a vegetarian diet, millions of Indians live on nothing else and are generally healthy and well.
But, of course, they know what they are doing. Their diet is varied and contains lots of spices and exotic ingredients that makes it tasty and balanced.
Western ideas on vegetarianism are largely based on faddist ideas that come and go and it is difficult to come up with a tasty and well balanced meal as well as providing the variety one needs to keep it interesting.
I lived in India for some years and lived almost exclusively on a vegetarian diet, I simply never missed the meat because the food was so good and varied. Coming back to the west I quickly returned to a diet including meat, fish and eggs because the vegetarian diet offered here seemed to have nothing going for it except some idiot saying it was good for you.
If you are serious about a vegetarian diet get in touch with the Hare Krishna movement, They have a variety of cookbooks for eastern and western tastes that are worth following.
Be prepared to spend alot of time in the kitchen though.

It's actually better for you as long as you plan your diet correctly! A sensible vegetarian diet is much healthier than a meat eaters diet and as long as you get a balance of everything you need it has amazing health benefits! I've been a vegetarian for almost 2 years now and I feel healthier! Theres loads of websites and books to help people get a balanced and healthy vegetarian diet!

It could be if you don't balance your diet. If you eat lentils and beans that is good. It also depends what kind of a vegetarian you are. Will you cut out dairy products? Will you eat fish or eggs? In general as long as you get your protein, carbos and calcium and other vits and minerals you will be fine.Cheese is also good.

If you dont take some kind of vitamins that have the same nutrients as meats and the other things you wont eat, then yes, it is definitely bad for your health. You need to get the same food values from the meats and stuff without actually eating the meats.

The American Dietetic Association states that a vegan diet is appropriate for all stages of life, including infancy, pregnancy, and adolescence, as long as it is a responsible, well-balanced diet.

I would think that being a vegetarian would be very healthy! I mean, you can still get protein from other things without eating meat and they say that meat stays stuck to the sides of your colon or intestines or something!!
