I just saw a video on youtube.com about a guy that stated he felt as if he was happier and less aggressive because he stopped eating meat. Has anyone else experienced this?

I found many answers to this general question, both postive and negative. However, if I keep my soy intake to a minimum (not eating it everyday, maybe once a week, but not every week), what are the dangers? Are they still as severe? Also, being a woman (no child yet, but planning in the few years), what are the risks about becoming pregnant?

I love pepperoni pizza. Since I became a Vegatarian I stopped eating pepperoni pizza. But I am not that big of a fan of cheese. So, the amount of cheese added onto the pepperoni or whats left after I take out the pepperoni is just enough cheese for me to enjoy the sauce as well. But I've been told by others that it's hypocritcal of me to buy a pepperoni pizza, evne though I remove the pepperoni. I guess I could order the pizza with light cheese and extra sauce. What do you think?..

Is it better to change gradually or to simply ban all meat at once?
All input will be appreciated.

Does it exist?
Im vegetarian (of the non fish eating variety!) and try to eat local/ethical/fairtrade foods etc.
I keep my own chickens for eggs but want to know more about milk (and milk products)
Is organic milk OK? Or is it still unethical? The only difference I can find is that it wont contain antibiotic traces. The calf still has to be removed though...right?
Can anyone point me to sites where I can research this more, as we drink pints of the stuff in this house!

Thanks!

I was at the store today, and noticed a lot of folks buying Tofu. I live in the south and have no idea what it is or how to fix it. I bought a package. No instructions on the package. Can anyone tell me what it is I bought, and how to prepare it? It looks like a small block of cheese.

Okay... so I've spent about $40 on various cruelty free toothpastes and all of them taste like either NOTHING or like some sort of putrid hand lotion or something! I don't even care if it's vegan... I just want to find one that hasn't been tested on animals and doesn't contain non-vegetarian animal ingredients. I thought that at least ONE of the national brands would not test on animals... but so far I haven't found it. PETA's "compassionate shopper" list says that Oral B currently has a moratorium on testing (they aren't doing it on a temporary basis, hopefully to become permanent), but I've not been able to find ADULT toothpaste from them... just kids stuff (that's like berry flavored, or bubblegum flavored). I just want a normal, mint type toothpaste that actually makes my mouth feel like I just brushed it. Am I on a wild goosechase???

I have been dating this guy who is a vegetarian and I am not. And sometimes when he comes over he's like do you have any food? Even if I have cooked something it's not anything that he can eat because he doesn't eat meat. What kinds of foods and/or snacks can I keep at my house for when he comes over? I had some veggie burgers there for him...but I want to be able to offer him more than just a veggie burger when he comes by.

thanks

Think about it, would you want someone eating a meat replacement for human flesh? I think we as vegans should stop eating garden burgers simply because of what they represent. They represent a slaughtered cow and I think that is wrong to even try to imitate eating dead animals.

As we all know, a vegan diet is the most healthiest diet to follow. I am thinking of just drinking vetable juices because I want to give my digestive tract a rest. Also, I don't like the idea of carrying around 10 to 15 pounds of feces in my body all day. It just grosses me out to think about it. If I drank only juice, I wouldn't have any waste in my body. My body would be pure.

WHAT IS WITH YOU FREAKING VEGANS VEGITARIANS AND ANIMAL RIGHT ACTIVISTS!!!!!? You throw paint over people that wear fur or leather. You ruin peoples restaraunt buisnesses. You force your opinions on us using fear that you will scrutinise us. That makes you terrorists. Isn't it a sad day when we let fear ruin our lives. PETA can bite me. I will not change ever.

My question is why do you force your opinions on me!?

Animal do not have feelings like humans. Why can't we eeat them while they eat each other. Our intellect gives us power and food rights over them.

To Vegans Vegiterians and animal right activists that do not force your opinion, sorry.....

I dont care what anyone else chooses to eat, so why does everyone seem to make it a big deal and hassel at meal time's when I choose to not eat the meat and dairy?? I dont mind working around what has been served or cooked.. I mean I will just eat the veggies and have a peice of bread and be done with dinner, but I am getting very sick of eating infront of people because of the negative reactions, lectures, etc.. (I avoid eating with others now) why cant people mind thier own business and let us vegetarians/vegan consume what we want? I have only just become vegan in the past 2 months after 25 years of eating meat and junk.. and I already sick of the negative thoughts by most people... sorry for the rant but I had to vent it somewhere!

I was listening to Dr Dean Edell this afternoon, and he was talking about a survey taken regarding vegans' sexual preferences. According to the survey, many vegans will not date or sleep with meat-eaters as they consider it disgusting and distasteful to even kiss a non-vegan. Some even refuse to associate with non-vegans. I find this an extreme point of view. I was curious to know how vegans here feel about this and why. I am sincerely interested in your opinions.

I'm 14 and trying to become a vegetarian but no one else im my family is and its hard when we go out. my parents a lot of times go out to mcdonalds kinda a lot and i dont get anything to eat I'm not saying they should make a veggie burger because i dont think that many would eat it considering only about 4% of americans are vegetarians or vegans. cant they atleast have a salad without bacon bits and chicken in it.
Who Agrees?

I am a 15 year old girl who became a lacto-ovo vegetarian a year ago. And, I've decided I want to go vegan. But, my parents already get annoyed with me being a vegetarian, and I know they'll get even more annoyed if I become a vegan.

So, should I go vegan now, secretly, or wait until I turn 18 when I am by myself in college?

Tell people outright that your a Vegan/Vegetarian. Like if you're in a restaurant, or people talking about diets, etc.

I just became a Vegan in April and I'm afraid of telling people I'm a Vegan, cause I get this weird look, or eyes rolling. So I just say "I don't eat meat and dairy" That seems to fit well instead of saying I'm a Vegan.

I am new (haven't even started yet) being a vegetarian.

I am seeking free, informative websites that cater to the newbie like myself, a google search pulls up far too many to weed through.

Can anyone give me one or two or so to help get me going?

I need the very basics.

Thanks!
