You know what? I've been a vegetarian for six years. People say your nails are brital and hair is dull... but if I must say so myself... I look great!
Really... I stopped eatting meat for the sake of the animals. I don't really view myself any emotionally, physically, or mentally different. I would say i'm a little less angry... i guess.
So yeah.. in some ways.... not really though.
I wish you luck.

After a year in counseling for depression and anxiety I read a book about food & your moods and the relation between the two. Meat is a trigger for anxiety because of the hormones, you don't necessarily have to be vegetarian to get the benefits tho. If you eat range meat, eggs, etc. you'll avoid the hormones and improve your mood. (caffeine is another trigger)
The comment above mine is uneducated.

Well, I was always depressed and feeling horrible. Two things made me feel better. One: eating better. Two: getting away from my horrible parents. I used to be very depressed, especially during the winter months. I was always walking around with a cloud over my head -- it was horrible. I hated home, and school, and that didn't help either. I came to terms with that, but still, it wasn't until I started on the path to eating as healthy as I possibly could that my cloud disappeared. I think that the mental hospitals should focus on diet and getting these people eating well first before shoving drugs into them and shock 'therapy' etc. These people are all unbalanced etc. and to balance the body includes the mind. If you consume a balanced diet, your whole self with be balanced likewise.

Being a vegetarian didn't change me other than the fact that I don't eat meat and am more aware of animal rights.

I feel that I'm somewhat more aware of how my choices can have an effect on the happiness or well-being of others regardless of species. Because of this, I make *much* more of an effort to recycle, to donate clothing & other things to worthwhile organizations & to try to make some small difference in the world whenever I can, even if it's just remembering to click on thehungersite.com every day.

I honestly haven't noticed any mental/emotional correlations with diet, at all (other than concentration from energy levels, but that's more physical).

difficult to say, i became veggie 27 years a go. Certainly not agrssive but maybe i wasn't before hand, maybe thats why i became veggie ?
No one can honestly say that thier diet has changed them, life is full of complex factors affecting it.
Being veggie has plenty of benefits anyway, no need for me to invent or find others.
