As we all know, a vegan diet is the most healthiest diet to follow. I am thinking of just drinking vetable juices because I want to give my digestive tract a rest. Also, I don't like the idea of carrying around 10 to 15 pounds of feces in my body all day. It just grosses me out to think about it. If I drank only juice, I wouldn't have any waste in my body. My body would be pure.

I just can't believe some of the replies I am reading. No offense, most of you people are like the blind leading the blind. You go on and on about protein. You people just follow the masses without question. I laugh at your stupidity, I really do.

Have a read of this article. It states that a vegetable juice diet is for detox reasons only and people should not solely have this diet for more than a week. Just drinking veg and fruit juices for a week will completely clean out your digestive system but extending this can be detrimental to your health.
I would suggest that if you want to survive on a diet of veg and fruit juice that you do thorough research into this as I have found nothing on the internet that supports this sort of diet long term.
You keep slating people for going on about protein but even you should know that a balanced diet is a sensible diet. Protein is an essential nutrient for cell maintenance and repair, and regulation of a wide range of bodily functions. How much protein we need to eat in our diet usually depends on our ideal body weight. Ideal body weight is used because amino acids are not needed by fat cells, only by our lean body mass. You choose not to get your protein from meat, that's fine but your body still needs it and it can be found in a variety of vegan foods.
I really think that it is time you sat down and actually did some proper research in the vegan diet and your body and it's basic needs. No I'm not a vegan and never will be, but from Q & A's on this subject, the majority of vegans are very sensible about their diet and ensure that they follow their chosen diet in a sensible way to ensure they are healthy. Whilst being vegan is very admirable, your hardline view of what you think you should be doing is very ignorant and will only send you to an early grave. I suggest some proper research.

NO. You are going on a pseudo-crash diet. It's very bad! If you are consuming processed vegetable juice, then matters will be even worse. These products contain a lot of sodium, which can rise your blood pressure. Your digestive system needs to keep on functioning. If you continue this for a long period, you may become deficient of several nutrients and fall ill. Or your digestive system may get into an irreversible handicap where you would be forced to drink only and not enjoy food as it should be. If you wanna free yourself from this problem of feces or whatsoever, the best solution is to eat. When you eat the food keeps on renewing and feces too pass out rapidly and easily. Eat more hi-fiber foods like fruits and whole grains and drink more water to wash away wastes.

The vegetable juice alone would be best if you were going to "fast". You can actually do this for the sake of cleaning your body out of the toxins. It is amazing how your body will clean itself up. It is imperative however, that IF you did decide to do a fast that you know what your getting into and what to expect. Your body will eliminate the "yuck" from your colon and clean your body which is good to do once in a great while (not very often though for the sake of your body). Depending if you decide to do this and how long you do it for...you need to realize how you are going to feel and the possible "ups" and "downs" and the possible symptoms of nausea, fatigue, weakness, etc. IF you decided to fast you can do a juice fast (do you have a juicer that eliminate any and all seeds so you just get pure natural juice?) I have one with the name brand "Breville" which is excellent! I toss in a apple and it takes the peel and seeds out separately from the juice. (Perhaps you can use it as compost for your garden?) If you're doing a fast for an extended amount of time (days) then it's very important that you never just start eating just anything. Typically, since your body is in the cleaning mode (so to speak) you need to reintroduce food slowly. I can't remember exactly but it was something like 2 cups of water to 1 tomatoe (raw and cut up) and just boil the tomato in the water and eat it like soup. But again, that depends on how long you fast for. Your body will go into shock if you go for many days then try to eat like you did before. So I suggest starting with the boiled tomato. (you can email me for more specific info if you wish) Now, I must say though, that if you are able to stick to the vegan diet your body will clean itself out naturally. The Vegan Diet is awesome if you know how to eat a balanced diet and get enough protein from your veggies. (It's a common misconception that you can only get protein from meat) As far as just having vegetable juice I would say no, because your body needs fiber from certain foods and besides...why did God give us teeth? ;-) I applaud you if you can stick with a Vegan diet! If you are a healthy individual (not on medications etc.) Your skin, your energy, your thinking will be just outstanding! You're rare indeed for taking on such a lifestyle choice. :-) Hugs to you!

If you want a liquid diet, I think you should go with smoothies. You waste a lot of the vitamins and fiber when you juice vegetables. You can even add grains like quinoa, and nuts and peanut butter to a smoothie. Plus you get the added calcium and B12 when you make it with soymilk. A smoothie diet can be a great way to lose or maintain your weight too, kind of like a vegan version of slim fast.

Yes ashley, of course you can survive on vegetable juices. In fact, just drink turnip juice constantly for about 5 or six years... it most definitely has all the nutrients you would require on a vegan diet. If you start to feel ill, don't give in, that's just your body tricking you into eating unhealthy things... keep going... drink turnip juice your whole life... you will become the greatest vegan in the world... you will become immortal and we will all bow down and call you god.

People are supposed to poop and carry around feces...Even if you think it's gross, get over it, it's normal. I think your juice diet is good for if you're trying to lose weight and plan on doing it just for a week, but after that, I think you're going to need to start eating food. I really doubt you could get everything you needed just through juice and that after a period of time you could get sick or become anemic. Eat vegan food and be happy pooping out your feces.

Any way how dare you call me a "freak" eh?? I am a perfectly normal human being who enjoys family & friends & who amazingly enough doesn`t want to convert the world - as long as you are not in my face - live & let live - you, on the other hand are so so bigoted that you will never ever see the other persons point of view - you are obviously trying to evince views beyond your 19years - I suggest you read up on Mahatma Ghandi, but I guess you won`t have clue what he was saying (incidentally he was almost a vegan & I respect & admire his life)

You must have pretty big bowels to carry 15 lbs of feces. Are you a cow? Just kidding. Seriously, it's a good way to fall really really ill and become malnutritioned. You need protein so you have to eat grains and legumes.

Yeah a vegan diet is healthy but vegan does not equal juices.
