Vegetarians have more gas. This is because much of our food is high in fiber or is fiber fortified. The more fiber you are eating, the more gas you are going to create. I know this from personal experience. On the other hand, the gas that a Vegetarian has is less likely to reak as much, as there isn't as much build up inside their intestines from the greasy meat that others would usually intake.

I think so ... but then again, if a veg head eats lots of beans the answer might be "no" unless they got use to that sort of thing or eat other things to help them not gas. I've noticed that our gas smells better then meat eater's gas, our sweat smell a lot better too, I can't stand being around someone who eats a ton of pork and is sweating like a pig eewwww they really do stink! We are what we eat. If they eat eggs it's just as bad too (farts and sweat).

I agree with "deegarry" I eat loads of fiber but I guess I'm use to it since I don't get bloated or really gas much. I only get bloated and gas on my period or when I am really sick to my tummy like have a tommy flu or something. Meat eaters are amazed at how much fiber I eat, but it's not like I try it just happens to be a lot more then the average US-American. My farts only stink really bad when I am sick, doesn't most people's?

You have the same amount of gas but people who are on a vegetarian diet will have gas that smells less then those that eat meat.

I'm vegetarian.

I think vegetarians tend to have more gas but meat farts smell much worse.

My mom had a cat, and my dog would steal her cat food when came over to my parents' house. He had unbelievably smelly gas all the way home in the car.

My friend eats meat, and my bathroom smells horrible whenever he uses it; it makes me want to light a candle or something--but I'm afriaid the house might explode.

As an ex weight watcher, I found that when I was eating all the veggies and fiber that was recommended each day, I built up gas far worse than I do now on a "normal" diet. But I think that it subsides when your body begins to acclimate to the newness of it. Like anything else, it depends entirely upon your own makeup and how your body reacts to certain stimulants.

No Vegetarians tend to have more Gas than most people. The best way to take care of this with a product called Beano. Works like a charm.

It's all about what your body gets used to. When your body is introduced to something new in your eating habits, you will get gas. Once your body is used to eat, the gas subsides.

Veggie and vegan people have gas, but it does not stink like meat eater gas!

No way. A good vegetarian diet is high in fiber. Where there is fiber, there is gas.
