In the past month alone, I have seen 2 advertisements that made me angry and upset. It's this kind of attitude that makes people automatically think vegetarians and vegans are depriving themselves.

The first one was a full-page ad in a popular fashion & culture magazine that said: "We Love Vegetarians. More Meat For Us"... paid for none other than the beef industry (ha ha).

The second was a billboard in a neighboring city. I was driving home when I saw this enormous Jack In The Box burger filled with, like, 3 kinds of meats, and it said, "Vegetariano? Lastima!", which means "Vegetarian? Pity!" (Could also mean "What a shame" or "I sorry for you").

Have you seen this kind of propaganda lately?

Superman, that's rather dense. I believe in veganism... why would I stop living my lifestyle just so I could please others?

MikeL, PLEASE learn how to put words together to form a sentence.

Rare is correct. We scare the meat industry. If vegetarianism continues to grow as it is, they are out of business.

I think we need to view these advertisements as a small victory, they have noticed us, and they have noticed the drop in profits. More people are avoiding red meat and the industry needs to make vegetarianism look deviant, or make eating red meat look desirable.

You don't see the chicken industry attacking us. The Beef industry is fighting a losing battle, as are those who eat large quantities of red meat. They will lose in the end, and we will live to taste the bittersweet victory.

Obama promised troop withdrawal from Iraq, and has given us a timetable for withdrawal. this is why human beings are not protesting anymore. Hillary Clinton lost the Dem well-known with the aid of fact she initially supported the conflict. @McDonald's vet: decrease the bullshit. Iraq in no way attacked america. Japan *did* (for the period of WWII). no one adversarial the conflict in Afghanistan. those protesters adversarial the conflict in IRAQ. Get your information straight away, republitard. @Fido actual the media grow to be overwhelmingly in prefer of the conflict. criticism of the Bush administration basically began to trickle into the media in 2005, 2 years after the conflict all started, and no WMD were chanced on. keep in mind, america initially went to conflict with the aid of fact the Bush adminstration claimed it had evidence that Saddam Hussein had WMD. for sure, that grow to be a lie, and that they've been talked approximately as out for it. different than on Fox information, of direction. lots of Democrats additionally initially supported the conflict; they now say they were misinform by ability of the Bush administration. Many Republicans could desire to sense the comparable way, yet they might in no way overtly criticize somebody from their very own political occasion.

I'm vegetarian and I don't think it's that big of a deal.

I saw a Jack in the Box commercial where Jack's son announced in front of a large group of people "I want to be a vegetarian" and Jack was very upset. Then he realized his son really meant "veterinarian." I thought it was funny.

I don't think we have to act like we have no sense of humor at all. That's one of the things meat eaters accuse us of; it's better if we don't fit the stereotype.

Well my dad is a firefighter and most of them are hunters and obviously not vegetarians. And their magazines are really mean towards vegetarians. I can't give an example because I can't remember what it said, but it was against being vegetarian.

I've noticed that Nutritrim system commercial actors say, " Nutitrim system allows you to lose weight and still eat like a man". As they say that they roll burgers and meat across the screen.

yea, i've seen ads like that! they aggrivate me, because THEY are the ones that are missing out on this healthy, cruelty-free lifestyle that we have. if they want to be ignorant and eat meat, then they should atleast leave us alone! but in a way, this means that they are scared they're going to go out of business because of the rising vegetarian population. they are threatened by us, which explains why they are bi*ching on us.

**and of course you get a star!

xD

I was upset for a few seconds, and then I realized- the animal-exploitation industry must be pretty threatened by us if they're doing ad campaigns like this!
So I'll let them kick and whine for a while. They'll be coming around to our side like petulant little kids in a few years. If not, heart disease.
:D

I dislike propaganda of all kind, even anti-vegetarian propaganda dispite the fact that I myself am against vegetarianism.

That said, I have never seen 'anti-vegetarian' propaganda before, who would go out of their way to make advertisements against like 4 or 5 percent of the population who isn't exactly a threat to anyone. I don't think McDonald's is going out of business anytime soon because vegetarians are recruiting SO many people.
