Wrong! This makes no sense.
The number of plants that must be fed to an animal to produce enough meat for one human is greater than the number of plants required to feed that same human if he or she ate the plants directly. Meat-eaters are responsible for killing 10 times more plants than vegetarians.
We feed so much grain to animals to fatten them for consumption that if we all became vegetarians, we could produce enough food to feed everyone on Earth. In the U.S., animals raised for food are fed 70 percent of the corn, wheat, and other grains that we grow. The world’s cattle consume a quantity of food equal to the caloric needs of 8.7 billion people—more than the entire human population.

Nope...we already have enough plant foods to feed the whole world...but much of it is fed to animals...the 1.3 billion cows that populate the Earth, already consume enough food to feed the world...cows exist in such high numbers because of the demand for their flesh. The animals population might actually get smaller...10 billoion land animals and about 16 billion sea animals are killed each year..most are bred for consumption..we would just simply stop breeeding them. You can feed way more people on a vegan diet than on a meat based diet.

Well no actually.
Grazing animals uses far more land than you would if you just used that land to farm vegetable food for people.
And it uses more water.
And it degrades the land.
Humans farm thier food man, if 6,000,000,000 people started eating wild animals that arent farmed thier would be no animals left on the planet within like a year or something ridiculous.
the chain wouldn't get a chance to collapse because it would be completely consumed.
dont you have anything better to do?

Nope. It takes far less land and grain to feed a veg*an than it takes to feed an omnivore.
THINK, man! The animals you eat have to eat something so they get all fattened up and grow fast. They just can't pump 'em full of hormones for a few weeks to build their muscle. So it takes anywhere from 3 to 15 pounds of grain to produce a single pound of flesh. And it takes 1,000 times the water to produce a pound of animal foods as it does a pound of plant foods. And runoff from animal factories pollutes the water, thankyouverymuch.
Ideally, if everyone went veg, there would be enough food for everyone to eat, but sadly, there is a little issue of distribution...

next question
There is so much evidence to the contrary that i suspect you are just either trolling this forum or haven't thought/read about it at all.
We have pet cows and sheep at home, as well as the arable famr and be quite clear that a cow takes up far more land than veggies do. you can feed about 1,000 people all year on the space you need for one cow.

ok guys dont be mean, they're asking an honest question and there are no anti-vegetarian remarks in that question, maybe they are trying to decide if they wanna make the change, and now they're like, hey they're mean i dont wanna be like them! anyways.. its an obvious thought that that would happen but they're right, animals are bred specifically for consumption, so if we didnt eat them, they wouldnt breed them. it would be like dogs and cats. and more food that was used on all the billions of animals slaughtered every year, that WERE bred specifically to be eaten, could feed a few humans instead. you know what really makes you want to be a vegetarian, go to www.mcvideogame.com and play the mcdonalds game. you have to raise and slaughter your own cows, and grow your own soy for the cows to eat. play it!! everyone reading this.. seriously its disturbing.

The animals we kill for food are breeded specifically for that purpose. If the demand for edible animals went down, suppliers would stop farming them and change to farming vegetable proteins.
If all 6B humans started eating only plants, the condition of our environment would improve immensely. Excessive amounts of fuel, water & land are used each year to supply the American demand of animals for consumption.

Well, you're wrong. According to trolls like you, we'd all die of "protein deficiency".
By the way, it's spelled "diminish". Look it up.
