Hi,
I am a vegan and I ate mostly fruit and odwalla juices before the candida diagnosis. I don't know what to do now. Please Help! I would love a structured meal plan, I am starting to get really hungry, is there anybody who can help, because I'd love to eat some breakfast tomorrow. I am normally quite healthy and need a nutritious plan because I don't want to stunt my growth. I have recieved medical advice and all six doctors have suggested I eat MEAT. They told me that candida is a common thing for young vegans and now my (non-vegan) parents are starting to agree. Please Help I know there is another way...Thanks for all of your help

I am transitioning to a raw vegan lifestyle. This hasn't been too tough. I lived off raw foods and random grazing food. I haven't eaten meals for a while. I snack all day.

Shortly before deciding to become a vegan, I discovered the joy of bread. Not Wonder bread or the sliced stuff. I am ADDICTED to the mini baguettes from au bon pain. I love the kinda tough, chewy texture.

I feel a lot better when I'm eating raw which may signal a gluten or other food allergy. Every thing just runs better, but I have tried to give up this baguette thing, and like a crack addict, I go way out of my way to get a fix.

How do I deal with this? My stomach gets off its smooth sailing rhythm once I have it. Even that isn't punishment enough for me to keep away for more than 4 days. That's the longest I've gone without it. Is there some substitute? I think I might just need something salty, but other things haven't resolved it. Help! What do you suggest. I want to stop eating it.

Idk, I love being vegetarian, and wish that I could tell people I didn't know, but with all the malice, annoying questions, and jokes I just want to never bring it up. Why when you stop eating meat is it such a big deal? I mean, shouldn't WE be the ones hating on them? like..I find meat reaally gross. like ew; I can't even imagine why someone would CHOOSE to stick that nasty stuff in their bodies!
So what's the deal meat-eaters..why the hate?

I've been vegetarian for over a year and a half. After thinking about it for a good while, I've decided to become vegan. I've found that there are a lot of confusing, smoke screen words listed under ingredients. What are some commonly used words that are 'code' for animal?

I've been a vegetarian for almost 29 years and I'm bored. Every time I meet somebody and they find out about my vegetarianism they ask me why I am one. I want a funny reply.

Any ideas?

I am just wondering how many vegatarians there are out there. I have been vegetarian nearly all of my life and are now on my transition to being vegan. I must say that out of everyone I know, I am the most healthiest and are hardly ever ill.

What type of vegetarian are you?
How long have you been one?
How do you feel health wise?

Thanks

eating a chicken leg? When I find it in my mouth it makes me YAK! First off, anyone else ever notice it, and did it bother you?
Sometimes when I'm eating a chicken leg I start thinking..hmm..
leg...this could be MY leg..and some other life form could be
casually munching my muscle meat off and recklessly discarding me without a proper burial. Then I feel queasy.. Is this normal?
I don't wanna be exclusively a mung bean muncher..but how come I have these chicken leg thoughts?
It's a little different with chicken breasts. I'd much rather eat breasts! You analysis please. I will pay you two points each..That's at least equivalent to what Lucy charges me, which is 5 cents.

My husband and I have been trying to convert to Vegetarianism for about a month now. We have steered away from beef and pork and can't seem to get away from chicken/turkey. The problem is, we eat pasta all the time because neither of us grew up eating a lot of veges so trying to learn how to eat them has been very difficult. I go to the PETA site and watch the videos just to help. I want to do it but need suggestions about learning to like veges. Hell, I don't even know how to cook veges unless they are in a can.

That vegetarians/vegans are allowed to have slogans like "meat is murder" and to pretty much harass the living crap out of anyone who eats meat, but everyone is required to provide "vegetarian alternatives" and reprimanded for touting the vegetarian lifestyle?

I'm not trying to insult anyone here. Most of you guys are pretty cool, I'd just like your thoughts on this, and to amuse myself with the tons of not so good answers I'm sure I'll get :)

Admittedly I DO like some cheeses, and keeping the eggs are debatable at this time.
I just need to make sure I get the recommended amount of protein to ensure my body doesn't suffer, or lack with the workouts.

And good places for simple, sometimes quick recipes.
I'm also a single parent, and my schedule can sometimes be too long.

Does anyone know of a vegan perfume that isn't dolma?

Or better - a known perfume that happens to not have animal ingredients in it?

If it were cave man times would you eat meat or starve?
I'm just curious...
If it were in early cave man times before taming fire and community... would you eat raw meat or start eating animals while they were still alive or scavenge meat from decaying carcuses laying in the hot sun? Or eat raw entrails like the ancestors used to do?
I thought you might like a little perspective on how unintelligent you sound when you think you are being clever and cute?

I'm a vegetarian but I don't really like vegetables. I eat about a half a cup of raw carrots and about 2-3 stalks of celery per day though. I also eat about 1/2 cup of blueberries with breakfast, about a 1/4 cup of dried cranberries or raisins as a snack, lettuce on my soyburgers, and perhaps a banana and an apple. Protein comes from cottage cheese, yogurt, milk on my 'grape nuts' cereal, and chick peas.
Since I eat fruits, should I really force myself to eat things like broccoli, spinach etc which I don't particularly care for? Am I getting enough nutrients?
