I went out and bought myself a vitamix commercial blender. Yes with the idea to improve my overall health. Purchased a 10 pound can of fresh spirulina power.

Two days ago I had three smoothies during the day with 2 tablespoons each of spirulina power, then 2 the following day and only one this morning.

My symptoms:

Feeling faint
bad headache that seems to come and go
shakiness, tremebling
nausea off and on
bloating
light headed
sweaty off and on all day

Will these systems go away? Am I taking too much here or what? I feel like death

I've been a vegan for two years now & at times would really just love not to fuss over cooking a special vegetarian meal. Are there any local (FL) or nationwide vegan restaurants that are worthwhile?

ok so for the most part i eat veggies, fruits, nuts, and whole organic foods. But there is the very rare time like once a month that i have no choice but to eat a fish or chicken because my family is anti-raw, anti-vegetarian, and anti-vegan. I do not have dairy products or egg products unless forced to by my parents.

Am i a vegetarian or vegan?

I have only been vegan 72 hours now, and I have been getting tons of foul smelling gas (sulfer)! I'm not trying to offend anyone, but it's the truth. I do a vitacheck and make sure I'm getting all my vitamins and iron, protien, so I know I'm not lacking anything. I usually eat a lot of veggies anyways, so that's not abnormal. Could it be the increased use of soy (milk, ice cream, etc...)? Or could it just be my body's way of cleaning itself out? Thanks you all!

I don't understand why this question comes up on here so much! Where do all these people get the idea that there are different "variations" of vegetarians who eat fish? Are there really people who think that fish is a vegetable or other non-meat item?

I've wanted to become a vegetarian for a while now, but not b/c of the cruelty of the animals, but because of the economical value it would provide...but I don't have any statistics or things to tell my family, and they don't believe me. Does anyone have any info on how more people in the world would have food if people gave the grain that we are feeding cows to starving people? are there any vegetarians out there that are vegetarians for the same reason?? and, having never been a vegetarian before, are there anythings i need to know about becoming one?

Me myself am a vegetarian. I have been for the past 6 months. My mum is vegetarian and so is my sister so it was kinda going to happen sooner or later. I have my opinions on eating meat and I know others do, but I honestly cant understand why we started to eat meat in the first place!

In the Book of Jobe, God punishes people by making them eat meat, So why do christians eat meat? Weren't we put on this world with animals to live in harmony? Call me hippy but if you dont like cruelty to animals, but eat them, aren't you being cruel? Isn't killing an animal and eating it cruel?

I know humans evolved from apes by eating meat, but what if a sheep started eating meat too? Would the sheep eventually evolve into another species of human? Does that mean weere eating fellow humans?

Please give your opinions Im accepting no matter what your eating habits are! ;]

Are blue corn or red corn any healthier than the standard yellow/white variety? I did buy organic, if that helps.

Though this is not officially a vegan/ veggie question, I am a vegetarian. I figured you guys would know. I didn't have time to compare labels at the store, not sure if they would have told me anything anyways.

If someone is a vegan and they go out on a date with someone who eats animals, would that make them not a vegan anymore?

I have been wondering about this for awhile. There are many meat eaters in this world and from the way I see it, so few vegans and vegetarians. Do we REALLY reduce the killing of animals even though almost hundreds are slaughtered daily?

It's for diet reasons but I still would wear leather? I don't think it's a vegetarian because I want to cut out Meat, Dairy, and Eggs.

I am on a basically vegan diet. i would really like to have a book(not website) that i can refer to about what nutrients I need to be getting and different ways I can get them. I know I can find some books on websites but I dont want to end up buying an uninformative book.

(Please do NOT tell me to see/ask a doc/nutritionist b/c I would have done so already if I had the $$$ or insurance. Do not tell me to eat more veggies & fruits & whole/fresh foods b/c I already have been doing that for a long time now. Do not tell me to exercise b/c that is a "DUH" & I am doing that now. Also, please don't try to "school me" on my vegan diet such as saying "get plenty of protein & calcium".)

Calories: 1270 to 1580 calories per day, so I am now aiming for 1400 per day instead of 1270 or 1300.

Percentages are as follows:

* (55%) of carbohydrates
* (18%) of fat (12% unsaturated, 6% saturated)
* (27%) of protein

I am:

* Female
* 25 yrs
* 63 inches
* 173.5 pounds
* My goal weight is 125 pounds, I would like to loose 1 to 1.25 pounds per week so I can reach my goal within 8 to 12 months.

~ I am vegan
~ I drink plenty of water

So, is what I have above a *healthy* diet to *aid* me in loosing the amount of weight I want to shed off in the given amount of time? If not, please advise and state percentages like how I wrote above.

Please only post if you have a recipe which you yourself or someone you know has made. Anyone can search recipes on the Internet. I'm not looking of random net reicpes.
Thank you!
