Oh, my acne of many years disappeared in a couple weeks. One of my best friends was amazed since he hadn't seen me over the summer that I changed my diet. It also helped that I was doing a lot of athletics, bicycle race training, drinking lots and lots of water, etc. I always did that anyway, but any change in diet takes an almost immediate noticeable affect when doing high intensity athletics.
I'm way beyond puberty now, but if I ever go and eat some sugar like maple syrup on my pancakes, or potato chips, or whatever, I get those little acne bumps on my forehead almost immediately. They won't become a whitehead unless I continue eating badly for at least a couple days or so. Lots of sunshine helps a lot for my skin too. Basically any sugary or oily type foods will start my acne. Basically junk processed foods, right? Why does acne come in puberty more than before or after... because the body is too busy doing other things and unable to handle the junk-food. Some people just never have skin problems, but basically, if I eat something oily, it's coming out of my skin in minutes. Just different skin types I guess.

I had horrible acne that was so bad i actually had painful cysts under my skin. I would have to have them drained and all this white stuff with puss and blood would come out of them. Turns out I also had MRSA which is a resistant form of bacteria found on 1/4 of peoples skin. When I became a vegetarian my skin cleared up drastically and now I just have an occasional zit but no more cysts to be drained. It took about a year to finally clear up from all the cysts but my skin has never looked better and it has been five years now.

Well I've always had nice skin. I turned vegan a few months ago and haven't noticed any difference. I just feel healthier and that I have more energy is all.

Skin, hair & fingernails have improved since becoming veg, which totally debunks the myth that vegetarians don't get enough protein.

After I stopped consuming dairy products, my skin breaks out really bad and then clears up perfectly! It just goes through a process of releasing the crap!! I also know when I have eaten some dairy (without realizing it at the time) because my skin will break out!

Both!!! When I turned Vegetarian I got a lot better skin ... then when I turned Vegan it had a healthy glow :) It was awesome!
Every person I've meat thinks I get peticures, and when they see that it's my natural nail, they're like "OMG how to you have such beautiful nails?!?!?" I'm like, I donno, not like I give them special treatment I don't take care of my hands like I should anyways lol. This one girl said good strong nice looking nails is a sign of good health. So I guess even though I'm overweight I'm healthy in some sort of aspect lol ;-) go figure.

I had a detox diet for about 2 weeks and my skin looked amazing. But for the long run it makes me feel very weak. I was drinking a lot of fruit and vegetable juices and no proteins at all.

I've always been vegetarian and I've never had a problem with acne and I've always had really soft hair too even though I dye it once a month and blow-dry and straighten it every day.

it depends, if you still eat right then it'll improve your skin.
you have to be careful with soy though because some people are allergic to it, it could make you breakout.
I have to watch my soy intake because I figured out that I'm actually allergic to tofu. so when I consume very little soy I'm fine.
