First of all, have you ever heard of anyone suffering a protein deficiency in developed countries? Of course not! The only way one suffers from protein deficiency is when s/he suffers from a food deficiency. Eat a balanced diet, and you should be fine.
You are struggling, and that's probably normal; you're in the process of breaking a very bad habit, and even smokers trying to quit struggle with the urge for a cigarette. There are tons of things that could account for your feeling tired--such as lack of sleep. Try to get to bed earlier if you have to wake up early and see if that helps.

If you are being scared into eating meat again here are some things that can help you out when it comes to getting the nutrients you need. If you are craving meat try Tempeh, Seitan, soy, and tofu. Mock meats help too.
Here are a few websites the first is a list of vegetables with protien and how much the second is calcium sources in raw veggies. The third is an article about B12. It is actually a microbe found in soil and is abundant in seaweed, tempeh, miso, and root veggies. The last one is a list of foods with iron and how much.

first of all, do what you want to do. if you want to keep all meat out of your diet, that's your choice - just make sure to get protein (and iron) from other sources (dairy, eggs, soy, etc.) and take a daily multivitamin. if you really want to continue to eat meat every now and then, who says you can't? most americans eat way too much meat in general, and we could all benefit from cutting back some, so keeping some lean meats in your diet can be good for you.
what you might want to try (and depending on the reasons as to why you want to become a vegetarian) is just cutting back on meat for a while. maybe start out with eating meat only 1-2 times a week for a month, then cutting back to once every two weeks, or something like that. a lot of people make the transition by being a pescatarian - a vegetarian that still eats fish.
no matter what you choose to do, someone out there will give you grief for it, so do what you want to do. if you're very tired, you could try getting more sleep (i'm sure we'd all like to do that!), and if you're worried that it's due to a lack of protein and iron in your diet, you can always get your iron levels tested. iron supplements are available over the counter and aren't expensive, just be sure not to take supplements with more than 18mg of iron in them - too much iron can be very dangerous!
good luck!

First, you're not being stupid, and plenty of people have done it their whole lives, but it's totally up to you whether you want to continue, not up to your friends or your family or even us random people on Yahoo Answers. :)
Second, there's a very good chance that you're tired -because- you've been waking up earlier than usual. (I'm going through the exact same thing right now from jet lag.) New vegetarians tend to assume any health problem that comes up is from the diet, but it's good to find out what it really is, sometimes it's diet related, but most of the time not. Try to find out what is waking you up, read websites on methods to getting better sleep and try them, and see a doctor if your sleep problem continues long-term or worsens.

you body is going through some changes. if you really don't want to eat meat then don't. don't let other people's opinions stop you from eating a certain way. i have many friends that are vegetarian i respect there choice. if your family is worried that you do not have enough protein, make sure you take supplements to balance everything out.

Well, stop listening to other people. You seem confused about what you want. You need to make up your mind for yourself.
Being a vegetarian can be done. The foods that we have access to in the 21st century do not require us to eat meat.
There are a few nutrients that you should pay attention to when avoiding meat:
Protein - You can get protein from dairy and egg products, as well as protein combinations such as rice and beans, rice and corn, tofu and beans, and tofu and corn.
B12 - You can get B12 from dairy and egg products, as well as from fortified cereals.
Iron - You can get iron from wheat products, raisins, spinach, broccoli, and fortified cereals.
Omega fatty acids - You can get these from walnuts as well as other nuts.
With a healthy vegetarian diet, you can avoid/reduce the negative consequences to a meat diet, such as elevated levels of cholesterol and triglycerides.
I've done it for over 4 years. There are many who have done it for a lifetime. You can do it to if you want to.
