Where can I buy tofutti? Should it be at a health food store, I couldn't find it at my neighborhood grocery store.

I've been a vegetarian, for a year now (exactly yesterday,) and I feel and look healthy. I've been told that no matter how much I may think I'm healthy, I may not be as a vegetarian. I feel as if I'm getting enough protein, but I am still not sure if I should be taking supplements or not. What do you think?

I know ultimately, no one can really answer this for me, considering you don't know the real health status that I have, and I should be seeing a nutritionist, but I thought I'd see how ya'll felt about the situation. Perhaps other vegetarians have also experienced this uncertainty?

My fiance is a vegetarian, no big deal to me. I would love to cook for her, and I have no problem eating vegetarian food myself, but I am a meat eater too. I do, however, watch my carb intake. Where can I find some dishes that are low in carbs and vegetarian? FYI, she will eat eggs, fish, and drink milk products.

Then why is it that any green thumb will tell you that talking to their plants improves the plant's health and growth? Just because something can't move easily on its own, what makes you think that it doesn't feel pain? Just because it can't cry out, what makes you think it isn't crying on the inside?

Oh, and before you go on and on about "killing a chicken and then plucking a plant, and see which bothers you more," I've killed lots of chickens. Doesn't bother me a bit, especially when it comes out of the oven.

I heard that the skins of fruits are the most nutritious. Is this true for watermelon rinds? If so does it outweigh the dangers of ingesting potential pesticides?

I decided to fix my car AC this week because I live in Florida and I can't take it anymore! But this will leave me hurting financially.

I need meal ideas. I already have PB&J, rice and beans, pasta//sauce/beans, and salad. (In case you are worried, I am also supplementing with other kinds of fruits and vegetables--I'm not completely unhealthy.) I don't want anything complicated because I'm used to takeout. I'm thinking more in terms of staples that require little to no preparation. Any ideas?

my 15 month old son weighs 19 lbs. his weight is below the 5th percentile. our dr has run a blood test and urinalysis and everything has checked out fine. i am breastfeeding but will wean him at the end of this summer. dr. has asked me to begin feeding him whole cows milk - which is okay with us (we eat dairy and eggs). and she has expressed how important it is that he gets enought fat in his diet for brain growth. we eat lots of LEAN meals - brown rice, beans, whole wheat breads, veggies, fruit. we feed our son the same foods we eat.
so, my question, i guess, is have any of you had this same issue with low baby weight ? and what are some foods high in healthy fats that i can feed him ? he is very muscular and lean - which i feel is healthy and i think it's genetic. my husband and i are both small and two nephews weighed the same at this age. however, our doctor wants him to fatten up.

First, combined 1 cup of cooked asparagus (cut into 2 inch pieces) with 1 cup of sliced mushrooms in a microwave safe dish. Top with some grated parmesan cheese and 1 teaspoon of extra virgin olive oil. Heat the mixture in a microwave for 30 seconds. Top with an additional 1/3 cup of three cheese balsamic salad dressing. I have a couple questions. I am being serious. I am not trying to ridicule anyones life style. I just want to know a couple things.

1) Do you eat/use products made with gelatin?
2) Where you raised in this environment or was this a choice based on education later in life?
3) Other than food, animal tested products, and of course leather what are other thing you don't purchase or use?
4) Is your cause for all animals or just the ones people eat?
