Okay, I'm half vegetarian, I barely eat meat but I've been losing weight, I have a small body figure (I'm 5'4... practically a giant and 105 Ibs .... Hmmmm I am 18 also) so I need something to replace meat because I can't continue losing weight... any suggestions? I don't eat false meat either so no false stuff.

My husband and I are Lacto-Ovo-Pesco Vegetarians; which means we include dairy products, eggs, and fish into their diets.

I want to know which supplements we should be taking. And any well establish brands one might recommend.

Thanx

Since we've all established that it comes from a dead cow's stomach...

People don't consider cheese top have meart in it but would it nessessarily be considered meat that they are putting in cheese since it is kind of body type part of the cow or just a disgusting thing they put in cheese?

A neighbor of mine brought back a jar of salmon from her home in Alaska. I have had it for maybe 5 years? Is it still good? And if so, how do I know if it is cooked or not? And do I cook it?

Did you find many veggie options on campus? (I am not referring to salads, btw).

At my university campus, we have literally FIVE items. On the WHOLE campus, only five entree-type vegetarian items.

im posting this again to see if i could get more answers.

how can i tell them? recently (like 5 days ago), i have decided to become lacto-ovo vegetarian, for my health, the environment, and the animals. i went like 4 days w/out eating meat/animal by-products or anything coming from dead animals, and no one noticed. but my mom noticed today that i was not eating meat, and started yelling at me and said if i became vegetarian id be in HUGE trouble, and how vegetarians eat fish (which, they dont, she doesnt know what shes talking about), and how i was gonna die if i ate that way and how it was unhealthy and whatever. ive done tons of research on it beforehand, and im pretty positive that i can survive this way. i just cant eat meat anymore. it disgusts me. and its cruel, in my opinion. i know i have to let them know eventually, but how do i do it? can they make me eat meat? i wont do it. im 13 by the way... please, serious answers only, i really need help....thanks to all who answer. (:

When I was a freshmen, I decide to become an ovo-lacto vegetarian, but since then I was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. My doctors say that being diabetic can also affect your protein levels (?), and since I was a vegetarian, I already was working to keep my levels up. Since chicken has a lot of protein, I eat that once in a while. I hate to eat it, but it works better than soy when I am feeling sick. I try to stay healthy with the diabetes and vegetarian diet, but is ok for me to follow a vegetarian diet, but sometimes have to eat chicken? I refuse to eat red meat. I don't go on rampages telling people they are evil for eating meat, I just prefer not to eat it. My friends call me a chickitarian, but can I still be an ovo-lacto vegetarian?

Fresh tomato and mozzarella salad sprinkled with olive oil, and black pepper
Then i'll get some large portabello mushrooms and stuff them with a herby garlicky stuffing with pine nuts, onion and mixed peppers - served with mixed salad leaves and good bread

Then my famous fruit kebabs ( strawberries, banana, mango, pineapple chunks, big black grapes) with two chocolate dips, one white one dark. The white one will have raspberry liquer in it.

if there were, I wouldn't have a problem with it. It's not harming any animals...and it's not eating meat. but for some reason, it just seems out of place to be a vegan smoker.

I've noticed an awful lot of this on here. I was just wondering why meat eaters feel the need to come on this section and rant about vegetarians? Are they really doing anything that affects you?

In a way I can liken it to the atheists that go the religion section, but I think they have a valid reason, especially with regard to politics. I don't see how bashing veges is valid. It affects you in no way, shape or form.

Any ideas?

I mean, what would you tell indeginous peoples' around the world that live in extremely cold climates? They need meat not only to for nourishment, but to sustain a fatty insulation on their bodies' to keep them warm. Aside from that, they need to kill animals to make clothing, and they certainly wouldn't let the meat to go to waste. Please, no answers about importing veggies to these regions, as it would be easier to feed all of Africa first. These people have been eating meat for thousands of years to survive. I think being a vegetarian or vegan is a great thing, but its not practical for everyone.

Aside from that, there are still tribal cultures that exist in every climate that would perish without meat. Should they become vegetarians or vegans for moral reasons?

I understand that vegans are true vegetarians, but fish is meat.

following this line of thinking would I then have to bar parapalegics from my list of good eats? This would be tragic as they seem to me to be the veal of humanity.
