I went and I was amazed at all the people chowing down on hotdogs. There was absolutely no vegetarian food either. I think the concert was for a great cause, but seriously, at least keep it consistent.

I mean, be serious. What would happen to our traditional countryside? If we aren't using these animals, there would be no need for them. Instead of making these animals extinct, couldn't we just research into more humane slaughter methods?

At the rate we're going, everything will be industrialized and who wants that? I don't!!!

Its better to have a life with suffering than not at all. Think of the pigs, cows and birds.

Oh, and whats more, these animals will have a worse life, classified as "Endangered Species" in some EVIL zoo or something

Anyone got a decent answer, please?

kay, so my wedding reception is going to have all vegan food, but heres the thing...
i have people coming that are pretty high-class(nowhere near QE2, but docs & lawyers & such), and also from the other side of the family are people who are pretty much "down home, kick off yer shoes" kind of folks. I only want one menu, not something like "burgers & caviar"(if I ate that stuff anyway), so what I need to find are things that fit well together in two or three dinner options(or possibly a buffet style that looks like it all goes together), would suit either type of guest, and is all vegan. I need ideas for the whole thing but especially for main dishes.
Any ideas? and please dont tell me "grill veggie burgers, theyll never know"......that, to me, is NOT wedding fare.
Thanks so much. (=

I've read that wheat germ has more protein than most meats, so if I substitute a healthy amount of it into my diet without eating any other type of protein, will that be healthy and sufficient enough? Which other grains, foods, etc can I replace meat with? I want to eat vegetarian, but I'm not sure how to slowly wean myself off of meat products while substituting other protein foods - any advice? Also, during this time, how can I avoid turning to carbs after excluding meat from my diet? Meat has been my main source of food for years, so I'm sure it will take a while to get used to not having it. I know a few vegitarians whose main diet consists of carbs - I would not want to become dependant on carbs to feel full after eliminating meat from my diet, because I'm trying to slim down, so what else can I eat instead that's filling but healthy? The thing is, vegetables don't really fill me up. Thanks for the advice in advance, guys.

I am turning 18 soon and will be having a Black and White themed party. It will be upscale and nice I plan on making mocktails and several black and white desserts (brownies, an adventurous vegan chocolate cake, and cookies) I will be placing out black and white m&ms. I am decorating with nice vases filled with black and white stones and with red roses(I will be wearing a red dress), black&white plates, cups, and silverwear, b&w tableclothes. I would like some nice vegetarian black and white or just upscale dishes on a low budget to wow my guests!

Thank you in advance...
if you have any other suggestions let me know!
I chose to have a classy 18th!!!

I realize this question has been asked before, but there are none open, and there weren't lots of replies to the other ones. So here goes!

What is your best, personally tried, cookie recipe? ANY kind of cookie. Chocolate chip cookies are my favorite, but I also love apple spice or cinnamon cookies. I need a cookie that is going to make my boyfriend's stepdad clam up about how he never wants to try vegan food, and I really want to make the kitchen smell good!

I've cooked without eggs before, using the baking soda, baking powder, flour, and water recipe, which worked great. Whatever method the recipe calls for works. Thanks everyone!

I am only 13 years old but I don't like the idea of people killing helpless poor animals just to pleasure our taste buds. I dont know what my parents will think but Do you have any advice on how to tell them?

I have been a vegitarian for 16 years. At age 10 i just could not eat animals, no big deal. Some people dont like tomatoes, some don't like fish etc...,but so many people throughout my life have said hurtful horrible things to me about killing animals, questioned my sanity, said i was unhealthy, tried to get me to eat meat or pay me to eat meat. I'm so sick of hearing it that I dont even tell people anymore. As i look on all these questions i see so many people making fun of vegans, people who want to help the enviroment. We have so many food options beside meat yet nobody is willing to go without it to reduce animal suffering and pollution..Its like crack or something.

I just found out my favorite gum, Wrigley's Orbit, is made with pork gelatin. Does anyone know of a vegan or vegetarian gum?

I also checked the lable on my yogurt, Activia, and it has kosher gelatin... I called Activia, and it is made out of cattle hide. Is there a brand of yogurt without gelatin or other animal ingredients (besides dairy) and without high fructose corn syrup?

I am also looking for a vegan flax seed oil supplement.

I am vegetarian, but was quite alarmed to see the damage we do to bees, in the production of honey.
But on a recent programme on BBC radio 4 (The food programme Sunday 8th July 12.30, Monday 4pm, might be on play again on the bbc website) They showed how dependent we are are on hived Bees for the production of basic food items such as apples, other fruit, and oil seed rape.
It seems impossible to avoid animal abuse.
