I've worked at a chicken factory and yes, I do think it's just. The old way...cutting their heads off and letting the body run around until it's out of nerves is not so much just...putting the chickens on a conveyer belt in ankle deep water, running them through a big metel tube with wires just at the head, the head hits the wires and of course it's feet in water, kills it immediately. You can't get more just than that...It tickles me how people like to say stuff like this and yet they don't know how incorrect they are. How else would you expect to eat chicken. If you and whoever else doesn't like the way they're killed, don't eat chicken ever again. It's just silly.

I have no idea how KFC kills chickens and I do not eat their product. However, I did work as a chicken slaughterer for a day as a teenager. Since the place was kosher, the chickens were not conscious when they died. A chicken that is upside down is unconscious. Therefore, they were inverted which knocked them out immediately and their necks were put into a funnel. The heads were cut off in one movement and the body allowed to drain all blood in according to Biblical rules about not eating blood. The chickens felt nothing. However, it was years after that before I could accept eating a chicken.

The way chickens are raised for food in general, is horrible... it's not just KFC.

I must say I was taken aback in regard to the callous attitudes of quite a few of the first answerer's here both male and female . When did we become so desensitized that the ruthless treatment of fellow creatures sharing this planet has no meaning ? that the end justifies the means ? and that only me , myself , and I count ? Many great leaders and philosophers believed that the character of a nation is judged not by how they treat the greatest beings but how they treat the meekest . This is a sad commentary ....... ........ and Yes in answer to your question it is barbaric ! .. Have you ever seen the undercover video of them throwing live chickens across the room and into a wall for fun ? or pictures of the unbearable conditions those chickens live (and I use this word loosely) under ? It is no wonder people get all types of illness from eating them .... you are what you eat is not just a phrase ....

I don't think anyone should kill chickens in any manner. I don't think we should crate them up and mistreat them either. Just leave them alone and eat something that doesn't require cruelty to prepare, like tofu. How can anyone love the taste of chicken so much that they would be able to ignore the suffering of that chicken so that they can eat it.

I think the way they treat them is horrible. I don't see how people sleep at night knowing they either slaughter these creatures and enjoy it or support KFC and all of their abuse.

I don't see how you above me sleep at night not caring about all of these animals. Wait, I do, because you don't worry about them. Animals are people, too. I just can't understand how you can say "It's just an animal. Torture it. It won't mind!" You try living like a KFC chicken. Then see how you freaking feel.

The way they kill them is terribly cruel, but it's hard to kill something and it not seem cruel. The way that they chickens are raised and pumped full of horomones is far more concerning. They look like zombies. KFC is one of the worst offenders though.
