Yes I went to the one in NJ...I was apalled too...don't those people realize how destructive eating hot dogs and hamburgers and such is?? They had no veggie food at all. It was just awful...i think most people just came for the music and to say they were there...my 2 cents...keep up the good work....snicker, wink, nod...

I did not go nor did I watch it on TV. But that is an interesting observation, since meat is a major drain of the Earth's resources. I too would have assumed there would have been lots of Veggie/Vegan offerings. In fact I'm kind of shocked.

Are you surprised? This event was championed by Al expanding-waistline, jet plane flying, cheeseburger chomping Gore. Very few of the artists there even care about the environment. Blatant display of hypocrisy. The only thing vegetarian about it was AFI.

We didn't go but saw some of it TV & were actually wondering how vegi-friendly the event was, or if it was another example of selective blindness. I did notice plenty of talk about light bulbs, paper towels etc. but not one mention of what the meat industry does to the planet.
My feelings were mixed about the performance from Antarctica. Seemed gimmicky.

FYI:
Live Earth does not mean VEGGIE only. It means quit polluting. Farm animals may be bad for the environment, but where do you think fertilizer for your VEGGIE diet comes from. Unless you grow your own, you are eating animal poop and contributing to the poollution by eating anything commercially gerwon, so eat a hot dog.
It won;t kill you

Why the hell would you be "amazed". You think the rest of the world is as freaky as the "psycho vegan". I'm glad you went, crawled out of the vegan cave, and got a life for at least a little while.

that is why you have to pack your own food where ever you go, even if it is to your parents house for dinner.
