If it were cave man times would you eat meat or starve?
I'm just curious...
If it were in early cave man times before taming fire and community... would you eat raw meat or start eating animals while they were still alive or scavenge meat from decaying carcuses laying in the hot sun? Or eat raw entrails like the ancestors used to do?
I thought you might like a little perspective on how unintelligent you sound when you think you are being clever and cute?

strawman- how cute.... elementary college mathmatics reasoning. However, considering the column I placed this example in is quite biased... would it not be just as well suited as an appeal to popularity?

HAHA... it's almost in the same category as "we were meant to eat meat, look at our teeth" or "Hey, I'm at the top of the food chain" If only they knew how dumb that makes them sound.
I've had you blocked for the longest time... You were a ballbuster I think... But I guess you really aren't anymore...LOL
I officially unblock you here on this 26th day of july in the year of 2007 at the precise time of 9:59:45 pm eastern daylight time.

I completely agree that this falls under false appeal to popularity and then there are those who appeal to emotion by saying, "your kids going to get sick if you don't feed him meat." Then there are those that fall under invincible ignorance who say, " I don't care how healthy you are without meat you don't get protein so you aren't healthy." Of course there is the biggest one, hasty generalization. Someone hears about a friend who is vegetarian and is anemic or has a medical condition and immediately they assume all vegetarians are unhealthy. Then there are the two wrongs make a right people who say, "Why worry about the animals when there are people being shot at and killed." However, the person who claimed this was a straw man fallacy was completely incorrect and instead presents a straw man upon himself by taking this fallacy out of context to try and justify his point. Your statement never took anything he said out of context but rather presented your own argument. Personally I don't see why people feel they have to justify being a meat eater in a vegetarian forum anyway. It shouldn't be about justification it should be about giving people facts if they ask for it. If someone wants to be a vegetarian and wants advice they can come here. If people want vegetarian recipes, have questions about ingredients, or are just curious they can come here but to come here and get defensive over people who negate something from their diet is beyond childish and these fallacies prove it. I would go on and on with fallacies all day but the fact is people eat what they want and no one can change it so all these arguments are pointless and just a waste of time.

I am a meat eater, here in the vegetarian section b/c I am having a guest over for dinner who is a vegeterian, and I can't believe how this meat/ no meat issue gets people riled up! I like meat. You don't. Thats that. No sense in trying to piss people off by posting stupid questions debating the lifestyle they choose! I have many friends who are vegetarians, and when we go out to dinner we don't get in a knock down dragout about whos right and whos wrong! we RESPECT each others decision to live our lives the way we see best. If you eat meat, WTF are you doing here anyway? (unless you are like me and trying to find recipies and such, to get a better feel of what is considered vegan and vegetarian and what not.)

Eating uncooked meat is not harmful. Sushi is not cooked, nor is beef jerky. People who are lost in the woods have survived by eating raw meat. The problem is that certain kinds of meat are prone to carrying disease (as are plants, for that matter). Cooking them thoroughly ensures they become sterile. But cooking is not required for meat to be edible.

I would be much more likely to be a vegetarian if I lived in "cave person" times.

There is an easy response to this: "These aren't cave man times."
