So here in Iowa we had an ice/snow storm and it was terrible! My husband walked to work (it was that bad and living in a court, there's only one way to drive out) and I'm here with 2 little girls..My neighbor was out snowblowing our sidewalk AND driveway..(she's a widow and I'm guessing around 50 or 60 years old!) I couldn't believe it! We moved in about a year ago and really haven't said much to each other..So, here's my question, without taking 2 little ones out in the ice, I wanted to do something for my neighbor..Of course I used the vanilla icing the other night..UGH..I have devil's food cake mix and chocolate frosting, so I thought I'd take over some cookies..I can only find recipes that call for the cookies made from devil's food cake W/O the pudding in it..Well, the box I have does have pudding in the mix..Does anyone know how to make cookies from a cake mix?

I make salsa all the time with can tomatoes and my family is begging me to make some as christmas gifts but I need to know if I should follow a canning process with just my ingredients....not using vinegar and extra salt.

The cookie recipe calls for parchment paper. I am out and it is snowing. So I know not to use waxed paper. Do I just go with my air filled cookie sheets (non greased)? Line with aluminum foil? What do I do? Thanks!

I know it's a recipe that is supposed to be served chilled but how do you think it would taste warm or room temperature? Here's the recipe:

* 2 cups frozen corn kernels, thawed
* 1/3 cup chopped purple onion
* 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
* 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
* 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
* 1 to 2 tablespoons finely chopped jalapeno pepper
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
