Toss them in a bit of flour before adding to your batter mix. Then they won't sink and will distribute evening in your cake.

Same goes for chocolate chips too.

Toss them in some flour first. The flour coats them and doesn't let them sink to the bottom of the batter.

Toss them around in a tablespoon of flour before adding them. This will prevent them from sinking to the bottom. Gently fold them into the batter. I hope this what you meant.
