I am looking for a good caramel apple recipe. Something I can do from scratch- i.e. no kraft or prewrapped caramels. If you have a good recipe for the caramel, please let me know. Thanks- torene3

Am I to assume that this recipe is asking for unsalted butter because it also has you adding salt to the cookies. I found this statement and am wondering if it is true. Recipes are written for unsalted butter. If you only have salted in the house, omit any salt that might be in the recipe.

1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE SWIRLED Holiday Morsels
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts
Powdered sugar

I am putting together cookie trays for each of my family christmas parties. So far I am planning to make chocolate chip cookies with m&m's, cut out sugar cookies, and those peanut butter cookies with chocolate kisses on top. I am looking for some extra ideas. Any suggestions?

I have made these many times only the seasoned bread crumbs seem to burn a little and then the kids won't eat them. Would flour be a better choice instead of bread crumbs? They should taste like McDonald's chicken fingers. What is the secret to doing this?

Thanks

I am learning to cook PROPERLY - i.e. moving up from your spag.bol. - where can I find out which spices go with what?

I am not really confident to just mix and match things at this stage, I just want to know what spices complement what foods and perhaps how they do so. e.g. this brings out the natural spiciness of X (or whatever) thanks

Is salt, just that, salt? I was wondering if the salt they spread on streets ect. is the same salt you put on your food? Is it edible? I'm not planning on eating it but was just wondering.

I have a recipe that calls for 1/2 c. of vinaigrette, but none of the dressings at the store are simply vinaigrette. They're all "red wine" or "balsamic" or "raspberry."

Making sugar cookies today and need a recipe for frosting them! Not too much of the sugar taste, but something that would "harden" and look and taste good!
