For Christmas day we all bring a crock pot of soup over and homemades breads so people can come and go and eat as they feel like it..This year I am having a hard time deciding what kind of soup to make...I dont want something like a squash, or pumpkin, or tortialla soup or anything like that. I would like to make a soup that everyone of all ages will enjoy, that will be filling , and taste much better than canned soup. It can be a basic soup as long as it is tasty..any ideas/recipes would be appreciated as i have a few ideas, but would like to see what others suggest..thanks and Merry Christmas....

Help! I made hashbrowns tonight and they came out pretty terrible. They were discolored (gray), sticky and mushy and didn't brown like they should have. I used Idaho potatoes, grated and fried them in vegetable oil....What did I do wrong??

We are leaving for vacation on Friday morning- all adults. We will be flying, therefore we can't take anything cold along. Any suggestions on healthy snacks to bring with us? Some are allergic to nuts, therefore we can't make anything with nuts. A healthy trail mix? A popcorn recipe? We want to avoid fatty foods, as we will be eating out a lot and drinking a lot.

Thanks!!!

Hi Everyone - I'm making white chocolate chip/macadamia nut cookies for Christmas. My question is - can I make the cookie dough (with nuts and chips included) and freeze it? I've never done this before so not sure how it works. Am I supposed to freeze it without the nuts/chips and add those later? or can I freeze them all at once? And last question - should I roll it and wrap it? or form them with cookie scoop and then freeze them in their ball-shape? Sorry for all the questions - totally clueless over here :) Thanks - Michele

My husband makes amazing fresh salsa using all fresh (not canned) ingredients. He does not cook the salsa like most recipes say to do, he simply buys the ingredients and chops them up and adds a little vinegar, lime, etc. I am sending a care package to my cousin who is stationed in Iraq for Christmas and we want to send him some salsa because it is his favorite!! It takes about 10-13 days to get there from here and I want to make sure it isn't spoiled when it gets there. We were just going to chop it up and put it in jars and send it. Do you think this will work, since it is in jars? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!!

It has been gray, cold and snowy all day. I always crave foods that are salty, greasy and filling on days like this! I am hoping to lose a little weight, though, so what can I eat that will satisfy my Mexican craving but not "break the bank" as far as calories go? Any Taco Bell secrets (I know, not real Mexican) or healthy but tasty quesadilla or nacho recipes?
