I recently went to a baby shower and they served soup! It's December and I live in Michigan so it really hit the spot. They had three different types... Cheese Soup, Chicken Noodle and Chili. All were home made but you can find ways around around that by buying premade/frozen at your local deli or GFS Marketplace. Have rolls, crackers and chips to go with the soups. The soups were kept warm in crockpots. A Jell-o salad, veggies and dip, cake and you're good to go! Hope this helps.

Although all the responses you received are all good you have to remember that you don't want it to look cheap.
Make finger sandwiches, serve fresh fruit, cheese and crackers, a nice green salad, cake, ice cream, jello salad, serve ice tea or soda's maybe even wine or beer! Not all together, pick and choose!
Good Luck and have fun...
