Every holiday season, I try to bake a pecan pie, but no matter what I do, the crust sticks to the pie plate/pan like superglue! You almost have to chisel it out!
I follow the recipe instructions to the letter to no avail. I have tried both homemade and storebought pie crust - I make sure there are NO cracks or holes in the crust. I have even resorted to experimenting with oven temps. and baking times! It doesn't matter, the result is the same! The filling is great, but I can't get a whole piece of intact pie out of the dish!
Anyone have an answer????

As an inexpensive gift for mine and my fiance's coworkers I am making my famous apple butter and clay pot bread for Christmas this year. Last year, I simply put the apple butter in jars and advised them to keep it refridgerated...and I was so nervous for several weeks that someone was going to call me up bc they got sick (which they didn't). This year I would like to properly sterilize and can it for them. I DO NOT have a machine but I have heard that with fruits there is an effective method by boiling. Can anyone give me the steps to do so, so that I can give them sterilized, sealed and SAFER gifts? Thanks in advance!!!
(p.s. if ingredients prove important to the process, they are simply: apples, sugar, ground cinnamon, ground cloves and salt.)

I've been doing it for almost 3 years now. Lately, I've left the shrimp out because my girlfriend is allergic. :^(
I put in 1/2 pound of bacon just to see how it'd turn out. Does anyone else use bacon in their Jambalaya? Here's what I put in:

Sausage
boneless chicken
Green pepper
Onion
garlic
1 can tomato sauce
1 can tomato paste
thyme
black pepper
other assorted seasonings to taste

Sorry for lack of exact measurements - this is from memory. Is there anything you'd add or take out? Thanks!

My 14 year old daughter who is mentally handicapped is in a regular ed home ec class. She has to do a presentation of a favorite recipe with at least 4 ingredients. I don't know if she can handle a mixer without me there... but she wants to make cookies. Any suggestions? Even if it isn't cookies, I'll take suggestions for something easy and fun.
Thanks.

I teach K and have been making a snack for the kids (or we have been cooking it!) at the end of the week for whatever letter we have been working on. (A = apples, B= bagels with butter, C= cookies, D=Donuts, etc). I cannot think of anything for E. I have to pay for it and prepare it, so I dont really want to make eggs or eclairs. Any ideas?!
