Example....Remove from the heat and fold in the chocolate. Cool to room temperature.

In a medium bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, and fold into the cooled custard mixture.

I just made a batch of hardboilded eggs... when I opened them up some had gray coating on usually yellow yolk.... but not all of them. Does this mean some of the eggs were older/cooked too long/???? It tastes fine but is visually yucky to the eater. Why does this happen?

You hear about this around the holidays, but I know of no one who has actually made it themselves. I myself am a vegetarian, and have had the textured-vegetable protein turkey loaf that you can buy in the shops, but have wondered if it is really the same thing as the tofu turkey you hear people talk about. It's really good, by the way.

Anyone ever make tofu turkey? How did you make it and how did it turn out?

Can I stuff my turkey the night before Thanksgiving so that I don't have to wake up so early on Thanksgiving day? Is it safe (bacteria growth etc) to do so?

I get to cook this year, and I am having trouble finding a SIMPLE recipe for the turkey. Every recipe I find has tons of ingredients that I'm not interested in using, like fruit, champagne, oysters, etc. I am making it for just me and my husband, and we don't like that fancy food network type cooking.
Can anyone recommend a simple way to prep the turkey for unsophisticated palates like mine?

I feel like such a silly person. I've made roast a million times but I cannot remember what I put with it--if anything. So, does anyone know what goes well as a side with [beef] roast? Potatoes, onion, and carrots are in there with it so please exclude those ideas!

I bought an onion a few days ago because I am making a dish that needs it. I think I will only need half of it since it won't be a big meal. Can you store the rest of it? If yes, how?
