I can't stand this electric stovetop! I can't figure out how to get eggs cooked right. Is the burner supposed to be very hot before I put the eggs in? But then how do I keep them from burning up? Two thousand years of cooking tradition was built on the premise of fire, not of electrical currents, induction, microwaves or what have you!

My daughter gags at the smell of sour cream and I want to make her a cheesecake. I made Alton Brown's which the family enjoyed and didn't mention the sour cream but she tasted it. Please, does someone have a recipe for her.

I like egg sandwiches but I hate the smell that ones you make at home have if you wrap them up and take them somewhere. Why do ones in cafes never smell? And also how do they make the egg they put in sandwiches in cafes because mine is never like it.
Does it get mixed with other stuff? Thanks!

I just got this new cookbook and when it lists ingredients for a recipe it says things like: "scant 1 1/2 cups flour" or "scant 1 cup milk."

I'm just not sure what this means for a recipe. Any help would be great!

31/2 cups milk
2 3.5 boxes of vanilla pudding (can be banana flavored)
1 8ounce tub of sour cream
3 bananas
box vanilla wafers
Mix the top three on low speed until thickened about two minutes, then layer in a bowl starting with the wafers, then bananas and then the pudding until all the pudding is gone. Dollop with whip cream and there you have it, it's very delicious and tasty.

I put it in the freezer yesterday. It still smells. If I cook it really well, is it safe to eat? Or should I just throw it out? Its boneless skinless chicken.
